How long does it take to find a group?

On average, how long does it take you to assemble a party in FFXI?

Either
A.) from the time you begin looking for party members to the time you have your party fully assembled and heads out to level, complete quest, etc.
OR
B.) From the time you start setting up the LFG flag and wait for the party to be fully assembled to head out.

Well, I don't seek on RNG now, I just merit on the odd occasions with friends to keep it capped. COR I merit on exclusively for my mithra's jobs.

Interesting thing about COR is, unlike BRD and RDM, I don't get nagged to PT when I'm not seeking, which was my experience with the other to. But when I do seek on COR, its doesn't take long before I see an invite.

BST don't need to seek, I just go solo. If an invite comes, I'll take it, but I don't generally seek unless I'm just idling in Whitegate with little else to do.

DRG I'll put my flag up, but solo til invite.

BLU, same thing.

PUP, plan to do the same.

NIN, it'll be like RDM or BRD. I get spammed to join PT the moment I switch over to it. Even when I'm just bloodporting with two hour. If, by chance I'm not seeing invites right away, see above, I'll go solo for a bit.

So I don't really keep track of time seeking, I just prefer to make my time playing productive, so I skew to soloable jobs outside of support classes.

Anyway, RDM/WHM/SMN are 75 capped out...so I only merit with friends generally....no seeking involved.

SAM is in a set...obviously no seeking involved.

BST will be in a duo set...

Meh, It really depends on the situation...Sometimes I'll just log in to screw around for a little bit, and I'll get a few tells asking me to group.

Other days, I put my flag up, go questing, and it will be a few hours before I get an invite. I usually try to make groups when I can, but often there's not a refresher or tank looking for party, and you know how people can be, they'd rather sit around and do nothing waiting for a Bard, Red mage, or Corsair to pop instead of just getting xp.

But generally, it doesn't take very long, everyone has bad days where it takes forever to get a party going.

I've found that when i don't have my flag up i'll get requests at a decent rate(at least as BLU), but when I have my flag up I get no invites. I don't wait around until i get them though. The other thing is lately I've been only searching within my LS(its easier doing a LS /tell, then trying to get someone to ask). As BLU I don't have to have a party to be able to exp at a good rate(2-3k/hr) so oftentimes I will just solo and farm as I'm experiencing. I do know the times I've done things in a party setting it tends to take a whil;e for everyone to get together( I usually only party for mission/quest events and not for exp)

I /sea first before I even think about forming....
Without seeing the available job first, forming party can take forever. Once I tried forming a pt for 4 hours just to break up because there was no one with the right job.

Since I spend most of my time seeking on either RDM, WHM, or BLM, I hardly spend any time looking for a party. Black Mage probably has the longest wait time at this point, but people are still eager to have a MBer in the party.

I wish I played on your server Aksannyi...getting people on Kujata to skillchain + magic burst when we've got the right jobs and a Black Mage, is like taking their first born.

To be fair, my Black Mage is only 38 right now, so traditional party setups are more common and skillchains with magic bursts are still an important part of xping.

I sometimes wait hours for an invite. It's not as easy as some people think it is.

It's never more than an hour for me, mainly because I never lfp for more than 30-40 mins, after that time I just go do something else.
