    Re: Job "Personality" Categories

It's not on the list because while fun, these lists are really just a chance for a poster to try and be funny. They are hardly comprehensive.

the biggest barrier of all war/nin: "but I hate leveling NIN" and why is that? "I don't like tanking."

honestly, what's so bad about it? Paying attention sucks that bad?

I think I'm tank/melee/confused. I'm actually more Murphie. I just like all the jobs.

oh, and on Omgwtfbbqkitten's list, i'm prolly the elitist. I know better than most people how to do their jobs bwuahahahaha. The difference is that I don't have a single job @75, in fact I hate to tell people when I'm said job whatever. I.e. I never tell 30 Thfs that I'm a thf 45 so they should listen to me. I just explain to them how to set up SATA, just like I did when my THF was 10. Seriously, the only thing you learn from leveling the job yourself is numbers (mp to cast Fire 3, lucky numbers for Evoker's Roll, what level a Brd learns Scopp's Operetta -- whatever tf that is).

I haven't met a job I don't like. I like tanking, I like doing damage, I like healing, I like enfeebling, I like buffing, I like pulling, I like soloing.

I suppose I'm less of a fan of pet classes (not including DRG since you don't really control the Wyvern) than others, but that's not an insurmountable hurdle.

        But I'm certainly not confused.

I like any job that can be wrapped in metal. Preferrably with a sword.

By the way Lmnop, it seems Scop's Operetta is part of BRD's mythical barstatus songs. Supposedly protects against Silence, but I won't believe it until I see a BRD cast it with my very eyes >.> That aside, I've always wondered, what the heck's up with your name? Oh, and that's a bad-ass avatar, Murphie.

It'd be more badass if I made it larger. I think I may!

I'd have to say I'm most definately in the 'Mage' Category....
              70WHM, 37BLM, 35RDM, 17BRD...

You have no idea how disappointed I was when I was levelling BRD/WHM, and wondered why it didn't cost MP to cast songs... Until I was informed by my LS that "No Ash, BRDs don't HAVE any MP.. that's your /WHM..."

              /devastated.. but still loving BRD!

I'm a mixed of Confused and Pet-friendly. Confused because I dabble in just about everything... Pet-friendly because I've noticed I tend to enjoy DRG, PUP, BST, and SMN the best.

Okay, eating dinner and faking sleep I can understand being upset with, but God forbid that someone have to stop playing FFXI to do a sudden real-life task. Do you get mad when parents have to go AFK to change their babies? I'm not saying that it's okay for someone to go AFK because their parents yelled at them to clean his/her room, but something like bringing in groceries is hardly fair.

Besides that, I've actually encountered all of those people, which makes those analyses so creepily true. (Couples piss me off to no end D

My personal favorite is the "Color Commentator," the player who has flavor text for all his/her macros. (Boost Macros, "Come forth, yaddabladda" SMN macros, and goth poetic DRK macros all come to mind.)

                    Others:

"The Spin Doctor" - Starts vocally pointing out other's mistakes to draw attention away from his/her own shoddy playing.

"The Apologist" - Blames his/her self for even the most ludicrous things.

"Pessimist" - The glass isn't half empty. The glass is going to cast Waterga IV and kill all of us.

                    "The Dillusional" -
You know those people that have gimpy gear, don't follow directions, and blow their 2 hour to brag about damage, yet take an almost offensive level of pride in the way they play? Yeah. This is that person.

                      It's because..

(1)There are only two true tank jobs (three if you're like me and count PUP)
(2)Most tanks almost always have another job they're leveling that fits either mage or beater.

You can probably make a case for Tanks being their own category simply because they fit into everything except Pet-Friendly. They're both casters, they both lay down the 'tings, and that makes them both technically confused.

You'd be surprised how many people do. Not that I make a habit of wiping as much baby poop as possible during xp, but sometimes a turd or two will make their debut in between mobs.

Rather than calling it "The Tank", perhaps it should be called "Glutton for Punishment". That was me when I started the game. Did WAR/MNK to 30, picked up PLD, went back to WAR. I enjoy tanking.

Lately I've been into solo stuff, like BST. It's not so much that I'm "Pet friendly" as that I'm "Fed up with the morons, and hate having half my weekly play time wasted by LFGing for 2 hours."

When it's every 5 minutes for 15-30 min at a time and they expect the party to wait for them, ya, that pisses me off.

If they're leaving that frequently, for that long an amount of time, they either aren't changing a baby, or their baby should be in a hospital.

I don't care what they are or aren't doing. When you have something to do that is going to frequently be taking you away from your computer, you shouldn't be in a party EXPing, doing a mission or quest or whatnot.
