  • Feeling kind of moral

No real reason for this thread justthatI have accomplished something and wanted to share.

I dont get much time to play this game so gil is a problem for me.

I have had to stop lvling my mnk as I dont have the proper eqpt i tried to pty with sub standard gear and whiffed real bad, the erst of the pty were tolerant so I thank them for their patience.

Any way I need a woodsmans ring but had no gil to buy it. So I have spent today farming beehive chips crafting them to wax ( a few hq helped here) if everything sells then I will have made 200k today enough when added to my meagre resources to buy my woodsmans ring.

As I say no real point to this just feeling kind moral.

    Gilbuyers Pah.

What do you mean by "feeling moral"?

    From Merriam-Wester (online):
    • 1 a: of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior : ethical <moral judgments>
    • b: expressing or teaching a conception of right behavior <a moral poem>
    • c: conforming to a standard of right behavior
    • d: sanctioned by or operative on one's conscience or ethical judgment <a moral obligation>
    • e: capable of right and wrong action <a moral agent>
    • 2: probable though not proved : virtual <a moral certainty>
    • 3: perceptual or psychological rather than tangible or practical in nature or effect <a moral victory> <moral support>

I wish I knew. Its very late/early here could probably have picked a better word. What I was alluding to was that when I get that ring I will have truly earned it. (not bought the gil). i know the majority of players earn their gil too, but with my successful farming day and subsequent hopeful sales it left me with a fuzzy self satisfied feeling. Moral may not have been the best word to use but it felt right.

          You were "feeling righteous," perhaps?

I don't think much of people who just bumrush a job whether they have the gil or not. I think I unlocked COR like 10-11 months ago and only got it to 75 like three weeks ago. Took the long way around, got RNG to 75 first.

Now I'm working on BST and BLU on the other character. Since both share resources, gil is kinda tight now. So I've just decided to work those to 50 and leave them there til I can afford a satisfactory level of gear for both.

I know its hard to watch everyone zip right past you can grind one job after another, but I gotta say having the best gear and levelling so many jobs to high level doesn't always mean you're an amazing player. And if someone had to buy gil to get that gear, I have no respect for them even if they're skilled or a nice player, because they make the game harder for all involved and give the RMT all the more reason to stick around.

Take your time and get the gear you know you need. Its not a race to get to high level, anyway. Anyone who thinks there is a race pretty doesn't have a real life to speak of anyway.

I think what he means is, he took the moral high ground and refused to give into the temptation of buying gil. Though technically, that's more of a matter of ethics than morals.

I agree. Screw the definitions. You did a good thing, Legion.

You overcame the need to want something immediately and you'll benefit from it.

Personally, I hate farming, and I hate NM camping, which means my only source of income are BCNMs.

I'm thankful that I've been able to buy things on market dips and sell during inflation, in addition to selling crystals and NPCing loot from exp and soloing, because my combined time of farming as a RDM is probably 40 hours (my play time is at 124 days...)

But leveling RNG changed my whole perspective on jobs that use disposable items. The gear is cheap compared to other melee jobs.... but buying Quivers of arrows every few days stacks up.

Let's just say that my title will be Fang-Finder for a long time...

If we don't like something, collectively, if our hatred for it throbs like an abscess beneath every thread, does that mean that they're doing something right?

I know how you feel Legion. To me, it's very satisfying to spend a lot of time farming, and then to watch it sell. Even more so is to collect the gil from your delivery box. Knowing that you worked hard to get the best items you can for your favorite job is one of my favorite parts of this game.
