Minerva's is +8% physical damage, -8 DEF and -8 EVA, though. Not a good thing for a blinktank. If you get hit by one of those shadow-wiping magic attacks, guess what's following behind it?

Well when Tiamat and Jimmy are flying there are no physical attacks, just breath attacks and "magical" WS. I guess that could be annoying though, since Tiamat is 2 min air, 2 min ground and you'd have to take it off before Touchdown (Jimmy is 30 sec air, 1 min ground so its even worse).

Correct me if I am wrong, but if tanks are positioned correctly with JoL, all it does is cast magic, summon its pets, use its Boost JA, spam Astral Flow, and attack extremely slowly/not at all?

It's the landing part that's the problem. In the air, absolutely it's a nice ring. Once it lands... that's where you run into trouble.

Pretty much correct, though those pets can also beat on the tanks when first summoned. Still a good swap-in for when those huge spells land, however.

Ok cool; done with that tangent. Besides, AV is unbeatable again, not like the rings are going to show up again on severs for a while.

As far as what ring I chose, I went with the Tamas Ring. Let's face it. I'm going to be playing my mage job a lot more than any melee job (even after I take my samurai to 75) and the stats on it are god-like. :D

Id rather get 16-18% TP a hit with rajas on on sam than 8Acc. Acc isnt a problem at 75 and the ring is lv75. Imo its a heap of crap and a joke that you have to kill AV for it

i got a rajas last night too. i dont play any mage jobs so, my decision was pretty easy. what i am most stoked about is that i can sell half of all my str and dex rings now.

Speaking of Rings and what not, we've seem some pretty damn evil stuff over the years in terms of accessories for beating the missions (RoTZ, CoP, Apocalypse Nigh)


... Just what in the hell has SE got in store for those who beat ToAU? 3 new rings with some kind of uber bonus that applies only with sanction and/or the astral candy? Oh the possibilities....

Current theory, or atleast theory I heard a while back, was that it will have something to do with the Glory Crown you get and subsequently lose in AU17.

Is the Walahra turban much better? I'm still betting on hats, but I'm really curious what they'll come up with that would be better than Wyvern helm, Walahra turban, or O-hat.

I'd say so far the Ares's mask is better. I think it is largely job dependant, because for instance the Wyrm Armet, NQ and HQ both look interesting to me, but so does the Wyvern helm, I just get stronger breath attacks with the Wyrm Armet. Ace's Helm also looks interesting, but I don't know if I'd call any of these heads and tails better than the Ohat, maybe the Ares's mask, but I am highly biased against the fugly Ohat.... It's just so wrong man.
