As I stated above... not allowing windowed mode for PC users puts the PS2 users and XBox users at an advantage.

But... people still use hacks with no integrated windowed mode. It's very easy to control hacks via a special data entry pad (like the Nostromo). If you're good enough to make a hack, I'm sure you'd be good enough to tie it to that, and have it makes sounds or display it on an LCD screen on that Logitech keyboard.
Face it, that excuse is old and tired. They need to stop hiding behind it and give PC gamers a break.

Also, considering that hackers tend to be hardcore computer users, there's a good chance they have two monitors hooked up to a single computer. I do - I have since I upgraded my main vidcard and had a second one available.

The rest of it had no relevance as to why SE would want to implement a window mode feature, to better your relationship with your girlfriend...whom nobody gives a damn about, honestly (not being an ass here, just looking at their perspective).

Otherwise it was a good message, but i'd recall it and kill that paragraph.

Actually explaining real world reasons a consumer wants a feature does have some bearing. If your looking at reasons that might actually cause a person to goto a competitor it is worth mentioning. It was a bit long winded, but a list of reasons it's benificial is merited.

Sidenote
When using the Xbox it's easy to have a computer nearby, but when playing on the PC I can't browse the internet with the Xbox. Not having integrated windowed mode encourages 3rd party programs since your in the same amount of trouble being caught with one as being caught with several. If someone is able to legitamately use windowed mode they have less incentive to use other 3rd party tools that are more destructive.

For the PC gamers, SE is thinking on the possibility to implement a window mode for FFXI, the Special Task Force had indeed noticed several players using tier programs to get that mode and that could have some influences to use hacks and getting their accounts suspended.
When the game was released, it required all ressources from the computer, but now, with the computer's evolution, this issue is not anymore. However it is not official yet, more informations will come later.

If your complaining about not getting to use Windower. Just go freaking download it. FFXI will never allow one. And there is no way on knowing its windowed cause Windower wraps the POL.exe. And theres no process of it running so no detect. So quit complaining about you wanting to use it when you could have been for so long. As long as you don't use the plugins your not cheating to SE ToS

you can run in windowered mode without windower i forgot how to but you can.

How will SE really find out your using Windower or not? There is no way unless your stupid and say it in the game, other than that you can't. Case solved. Half of the FFXI world (counting all servers) 50-65% use windower. So it doesn't matter violating ToS will never know you are or not.

You think thats still gonna stop people? Piracy on the other hand. Thats against the law in certain countries.

So basically you say its wrong to use Windower in FFXI cause its against ToS. But you probably download music, movies etc and thats a prison sentence (if caught) just saying, not accusing. So whats the difference?

Go download it and quit whining about not being able to use it cause SE will not know if you do or not. Its just judgement of character all there is.

I bolded these parts, because your not reading our little message at the begining of our game. Do not forget your friends,school, family, work bla blah stuff. Yes, retaliation will be "I am trying to keep in touch" You speak of your life is being blocked because FFXI does not minimize or reduce to a smaller window size. That doesn't sound like your life is being hindered, it sounds like you revolve around FFXI. FFXI does not impend my life. I have a fiancee aswell, have her bring the WII to your dorm, or just live for a few hours or so without the game. You might miss something yes, but seriously, It's life, this game will not help you in the future. Don't neglect those whom care about you. If you get put into jail, is Square-Enix or your LS leader going to bail you out (unless you know them irl ) not likely, your girl or a family or friend will. I am not being rude about this, I just dont see why people send letters to them, that sound almost identical, for a reason that is just trying to let people still have no lives. And as i do, my bank auto-pays my bills, look into it. "Direct Deposit" it works wonders. And also, Buy a phone or battery or whatever. Then you wont need to fiss off your girl ^^b

EDIT: SE can go to hell for not making a PS3 port. I'm sorry, but why the hell not? The PS2 version and all the expansions are discontinued, how freaking hard would it be to put a Vana'diel collection on the PS3 like they did for 360? Sony doesn't even support the PS2 HDD anymore...

I Whole Heartedly Agree they should install a Windowing Option couse Where a Consol Player can get up and use there comp or unplug the Video Cord and continue to use there TV or get up and use there Comp for Whatever Some People Need there Comp For Work It pisses me off Every Time i have to Logout Send messages/Email/Bills/Business for 5 min. then have to Log Back in to the Game just to Continue.
