Question about Ask SquareEnix Questions section

When the questions started mods were gonna compile a list with all the questions asked (or at least the valid ones) and then submit them to SE so they could answer them, but I haven't seen any news about it posted.

What happened to the list? Was it ever made or there's still time before you can submit questions... or how exactly does it work?

Would seem that way, unless they really wanted to make sure there was ample time for people to ask every question imaginable.

As far as we (the moderators) are aware, the site was asked to compile a list of questions. Square-Enix has not to our knowledge asked for that feedback - what if anything they hoped/are hoping to achieve is anyone's guess. Maybe they really are monitoring the forums - it's not like there are that many of them; it's for this reason that we continue to maintain and police that forum as if it were being monitored, as a convenience in case Square-Enix should in fact do some checking.

Hmm, I guess that's the best course of action for the time being, but it would be nice of SE (if they are in fact keeping an eye on forums) to give at least an indication that those questions are going somewhere.

I was really quite hopeful when SE first released the information about how the question and answer process would work. It seemed SE was embracing the on-line community that had been built around the game. Then, as it became obvious they weren't going to follow through, I went from being hopeful to being incensed.

Enough so, that I submitted a "suggestion," via the Playonline site. In my suggestion I explained that SE had, in their announcement on 21July2006, committed themselves to returning completed question-and-answer sets from the community and development management teams. I continued by stating that after 6 months, no question-and-answer set had been returned to the premium content sites, and the original annoucement was beginning to feel a bit like a deception. Finally I suggested that SE should either follow through on it's announcement, or take the time carefully detail how *and* when they are planning on collaborating with the FFXI online community.

My doing so was really just to blow off a little steam (although I was polite in my suggestion). However, seeing this thread makes me think that it might be worthwhile reminding SE that the online community really does read their announcement, and do so en masse.

When's the next big fan festival supposed to be? Perhaps if they don't address this issue by then it should be brought up directly.
