There is probley also a diference between a High lv palyer who thinks they are good and one who actually is good.

Newb = New player that knows to ask questions because they know they're new.

N00b = Player of any age who doesn't know the fundamentals about their job or the game itself.

There is probley also a diference between a High lv palyer who thinks they are good and one who actually is good.

Good player = Can get through an entire XP party without saying a word but performs well regardless.

Elitist = Classifies other people by some factor other than playing skill or attitude. Elitists can't stand casual players, "gimps", or Puppetmasters (j/k! ).

I used to think ga spells are more powerful than their single target counterparts So I always diaga in PT with my newbie Whm, and I ran out of MP so fast.

Oh, I get that all the time - both n00b and elitist (lol). It all depends on where it's coming from though.

Some of the people I play with regularly understand the game on a much deeper level than I do with respect to specific battle tactics, so sometimes I get jokingly called a n00b when I ask why we're doing something an unusual way because I've been left out of an earlier conversation. They don't mean anything by it; it's all in good fun since they know I what I'm doing and will adjust to whatever tactics they've dreamed up once I understand what they're trying to do.

And I get called an elitist even here sometimes because I sometimes mention how things are done at higher levels, usually in discussions where people talk about wanting to get to level 75 (go figure).

I was lving a THF lv 1-5 once and someone asked me why I didn't have better armor.

I told them, cause I just started and I can't buy any yet.

So they threw 30k at me.

Newb - Just someone new to the game, learning how to play.

Noob - Somone who has been around long enough to know better, but is still a dumbass. Has multiple 75s and lots of time under their belt, yet still doesn't know how to play.

Elitest - Thinks the world should do everything their way.

Can a noob be an elitest? Yup. Sure can, that's why Killing Ifrit and BG forums exist.

Newb-
Newbs are just new players

Noob-
Noobs are generally idiots who won't take any advice and think they are always correct. They can have 12 jobs at 75 or be level 10 and subless. It's all about attitude.

Elitist-
Elitism can take quite a range. The worst being the type that expect everyone to have the best gear without consideration for how costly or difficult to obtain that gear may be. Some people are mistakenly called elitist just for prefering efficiency while not really having unrealistic expecations. This is all on a sliding scale though and fairly sujective.

Asshole-
Often mistakenly called an elitist. These are generally just noobs that have horrible manners and attitudes. They may not particularly be elitist in their attitude (expecting the best from everyone), but will just do dickish things and generally treat people like crap, often because of their job choices.

Can a noob be an elitest? Yup. Sure can, that's why Killing Ifrit and BG forums exist.

I believe this puts you in the category of asshole. If you are going to shit talk someone at least do it based on something factual. Most of the people on BG know how the hell to play their jobs and know how to do it better than most and under a wider variety of circumstances. This doesn't really put them under the heading of being noobs just because they seek efficiency.

There are noobs on every forum. If you really want to attack a forum for noobs attack Alla where you can't make a suggestion that isn't mainstream without getting flamed and rated down into oblivion. If you even mention you have a 75 there you're branded and elitist and flamed.

You seem constantly bitter toward people that have a lot of experience and do things well. You can be on the rag about it all you want, but while doing so, please don't mis-classify people. It just sounds like you got butthurt because someone didn't agree with your anti-progressive propaganda.

But anyways... it's the elitists that make me laugh the most. They think that they know what they're doing because they got 3 jobs to 75. I love getting the "I've leveled this job to 75! I knowz what I'm doing n00b!!" from other people.

You know what? If I lived in my mother's basement and had no job, I'm sure I could sit on my ass all day and daydream about how much of a good player I am while I level jobs to 75.

Correction... you're talking about noobs... not elitists. Someone who claims they have knowledge just because they have 75s is more likely a noob and very likely just an asshole. They aren't elitists until they start kicking you because you don't have white boxes around your gear or whatever.
