Ok. Weird question, searched already. Say you are banned form xbox live, you want to play ffxi on a computer. Since xbox 360 can play with PC will the pc people be banned just for being banned on live?

I'm not banned, but curious. Say you are banned on xbox live, you want to play FFXI on a pc. Since a xbox user can play with a pc one. Will the pc player be banned for being banned on xbox?

Shouldn't be since it's a seperate company although getting screenshots e-mailed off the xbox after that would prove interesting since access would be removed from xbox live.

They ban by the codes which are linked to your content ID's you have so in theory if you re-use the same code on the pc to install it as was banned on the x-box then it will not work, you'd have to buy a new copy of the game with new codes. whether they take into account your payment details and listed address as well i am not sure.

No, unless FFXI has agreements with Xbox Live for only special reasons. Like a certain hack that benefits you on FFXI as well. A friend of me got banned from XBL for modding his Xbox 360 to use infinte ammo and stuff like that, while playing Halo2 (Mulitplayer shooter game), but could continue playing FFXI on his PC.

I think it are two sepperate instances. Banned from FFXI, no matter what platform, is banned from FFXI on any platform. And banned from XBL, is banned from XBL and its services, not FFXI.
However, im not sure if you get banned on XBL, if you cant play FFXI on Xbox anymore, simply because your XBL ID, which is connected and to your FFXI Account, and cant be changed after the setup, cant be accessed anymore.

Your account is "1" single account. It doesn't matter what plat form you're using, it is still the same account. If you get banned, you're done.

XBL has nothing to do with FFXI. You don't even need it to play FFXI, just a player profile.

There seems to be some confusion as to the language you're using. Let me try to clarify:

If you got banned from your Xbox Live account, then your FFXI account will not be affected. You can play it on PC or PS2.

If you got banned from FFXI that you were playing on Xbox Live, then your FFXI account itself was banned and you will not be able to play it on any system.

I'm more curious as to what would make you curious about being banned in the first place.

As long as you don't get banned by Square-Enix, your account is still valid. Being banned from Xbox Live does not invalidate your FFXI account in any way. However, if the Xbox 360 is the only way you have to access FFXI, you'll need to find another way to play the game through another platform (PC, PS2, PS3), which includes finding the software for your chosen new platform. You won't need to re-register your account, you just need a machine that can play the game with the appropriate expansions.

All you Xbox users seem to forget that when you load up FFXI you're not really playing on Xbox live anymore(you've just been transfered to POL). FFXI has it's own set of servers that are seprate from live and were running long before the Xbox came out with it's version of the game.

Banned from live does not mean you've been banned from POL since that is a seprate set of severs run by Sqaure Enix. If SE decides to ban you then you're off FFXI...If Microsoft bans you off Live...well forget trying to play Halo but you can still use your POL ID to keep playing FFXI on another system...
