  • How should I go about?

I am currently at level 30 and have unlocked most of the "unlockable" jobs. I am currently rank 3(but can do rank 4 as soon as I can get to a higher level). I have started Cop missions(on mission 2-the 1st craig missions) and also Toa missions(but not assults as I am not level 50). My problem is that my work/family only allows me around 3hrs/day(some days I can get 6-8hrs, sometimes I can't play for 3-4 days). If it is recommended that u give at least 3hrs for parties, what is the best approach for me to at least be able to do some of the end of game events(in partictular "sky" and "sea" and "gods") I realize that I probably will not be able to accomplish everything in the game, but would still like to experience as much as possible in the time frame allowed.

Also, the other day I got aggroed as I was resting(even though I had both sneak and invisible on), by a jelly-like creature in the Karr. tunnel(forgot how to spell the name) . I figured it was able to blood aggro(but am not sure). Am I correct in thinking this, and if so is there a list of mobs which blood aggro. Also, is there any way of preventing this(in the same way we have sneak and invisible), and is there any good info reguarding blood aggroing?(sorry to combine this into 1 but I wasn't sure where to post reguarding blood aggroing)
u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them

Either one of two things happened:

You either aggroed a bogy or Dame Blanche NM (they aggro to low HP), but they aren't slime-like.

Or you aggroed a jelly, which aggro to sneak, or metallic slime, which I believe is true sight. (FFXIclopedia says unknown as to how metallic slime aggroes, so it's probably true sight.)

Nothing in there aggroes to low HP except the bogies. The way low HP aggroing works is if your HP is less than 75%, or if it's in "the yellow", you're susceptable to getting aggroed by them. General rule of thumb I use is that undead aggro to low HP and sneak (bogies, skeletons, etc..)

Sounds like you might want to pick up playing Bard, one of the easier jobs to coast through the game with. Unfortunately they're rather boring the play so a lot of people avoid them, but at the same time most people will agree that the benefits of having a Bard in the party are vast. To play Bard you'll want a White Mage sub job, and for that you'll need a Black Mage sub job. You should be a hot commodiy when it comes to EXP parties.

Not a lot in the game can be done in three or four hours. You'd have to do a lot of work in advance and a lot of planning. As Bard you'll most likely recieve a lot of extra attention when it comes to obtaining both Sky and Sea, so you might have it a little easy there.

Re: How should I go about?

I didnt find bard as boring as alot pf ppl say. I kept up 4-5 songs. And i still came in to smack the mob around.

IT was incredibly easy to level, even for just an hour or 2.. But once i got to 45, it seemed nobody cared about having a bard anymore.

But i think bard would be a good idea. But besides maybe some late lvl pulling (with/nin) you might not actually be 'doing' much for endgame

Another option to reach "end game" on limited play time is BST. BST is pretty flexible, and you can solo level BST from 1 to 75 with a sub such as WHM, RDM, or NIN. With some patience, you could potentially level BST with any sub, or even no sub at all!

When I level BST with my limited playing time, I usually just log out near my camp. I can log in and start exp'ing almost immediately (provided no other players are using the camp at the time). And then I can stop any time I want, without having to worry about upsetting 5 other people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't a lot of mobs aggro to someone who's healing (and in some cases, sitting) even with Sneak and Invisible on?

Not that I know of. I'll test it though.

Mobs that are too weak to aggro you, will aggro you if you sit. That's about it. Sneak/invis will prevent that too.

It is possible. I've lost count of the number of time someone in my party was aggroed by something because they were resting. I've been aggroed by gobs in Gustaberg while resting (I believe I was PLing my husband - the only person I will PL) and I was easily level 30+. It's really pretty stupid ... I mean if you're so high that you can kill something in one hit (or cast) then it shouldn't bother with you regardless of your position.

An aggro mob will attack you if 1) it thinks you are weak enough and 2) have a way of detecting you. Sound, sight, HP level and casting magic are all ways for a mob to detect your presence. If you are high enough level, aggro mobs will realize it's a bad idea to attack you (like when you /check a mob, and see that it's Incredibly Tough). However, if you are resting, they might think you are easy pickings and attack you opportunisticly (like when you see an NM running around unclaimed with only a sliver of life left).

Having sneak up, invis up, full life, and not casting magic pretty much takes care of condition #2 (except for true sight mobs). I have rested near aggro mobs with sneak/invis up before.

Sneak and Invisible will stop mobs that detect using that method from noticing you when resting. It will not stop enemies that use other detection methods (undead that HP aggro, for instance, will attack you when resting if you have yellow HP regardless of any stealth effects that you might have at the time)

Correct. I've been aggroed by a too weak tiger because I was sitting.

Some mobs also aggro resting aswell as sound or sight. I've had both up in Uleguerand Range and been aggroed by something, not the Taurus, something else. I think there's quite a few mob types that do it though.

I am a casual player also. My advice to you is to level the job you want, you will be playing it a while so you should want to play it. Try to make a static to level with. This would cut out your lfg time and 3 hours is plenty of time to get a good chunk of experience. Finally, I think you just have to accept that people who can play more will progress faster than you. This happens to me a lot, my friends get crazy merits and are able to to make money where I have to divide the short time I have to play each week to LS events, money making, and leveling. Some weeks I will do nothing but LS events and make money which isn't always fun, but some times necessary for my playstyle I suppose. Go ahead and do yourself a favor, accept this and have fun doing your thing It might take you longer, but if you stick with it you will accomplish your goals.

If you are looking for a quick way to endgame I would suggest leveling Bard. When I party I "camp" bards.
