    Connection Problems!?

    Anyone else having trouble connecting for the past....4-5 hours ?

    If im very lucky to actually connect to POL it is very slow, and will not Load the ffxi "Play game" button/screen.
    I am getting so many different POL error codes but yet the descriptions are basically the same. errors, 0011, 1341 ,0008 and others, which i cant recall. I tried to use the Service and Support Feature.... but what good is it if you can connect to it.

    Im in Sydney, if that makes any difference >_<

    Japan announced yesterday that because they lost the battle of Coral Sea in WWII, they are officially starting a trade embargo on australia which includes use of online features based in japan.

        Oh. My. God. Yes.

        I tried to get on all last night and again this morning before work, but no cigar.
        I think I am having the same problem (Adelaide, Australia)
        I try to log onto play online and it takes aaaages to load, then while its loading my 'online status' and friend list it tells me there are connection problems or the server is busy.

        I have reset my modem, and my laptop, i can log onto the web and msn fine, but when i go onto play online it wont let me on!
        Actually last night, it did let me log on finally for about ten mins, then lagged out in the middle of al zahbi and i havent been able to get on since....

        I think SE hates me..

        Any help would be much appreciated too!!

          i have heard that the earth quake in taiwan has disrupted communciations and networks between australia and asia (or something) and thats probably why were having problems... some are, some arent. my friend lives in sydney and no problems there. oh well i guess we just have to wait it out..

            Hmm maybe the earthquake did disrupt the lines ....or somthing ..

            I was able to log in before, only to get d/c while in a PT and not able to connect again. It was'nt a normal d/c either where my R=0 for a few seconds then times out, it just started to lag a little, then boom, Disconnected from ffxi and POL. Oh well, hopefuly it all gets fixed up soon.

              yeah, i managed to log in tonight for an hour and a half.. i managed to last through beseiged and got geared up to go to one of the staging points and then got disconnected and cant get back on : (

              woe is us.

              and im not saying its definately the earthquake.. thats what ive heard from a few people, so i'm assuming here. ah well.. will give me a chance to catch up on assignments lol. ^^

                (Is in Adelaide)

                The earthquake in Taiwan severed a few undersea cables (a friend in Singapore had no internet access at all) but now that repair work is underway your connections should be getting better soon.
