  • Stun Effevtiveness

Hey everyone. I got a question about magic. I just read up on how using certain elemental staves will effect the spells potency, how it will stick to the mob , etc. Like if you equip an ice staff to frost, wind staff to silence and things like that. but what would make stun more effective? Stun is a thunder-based dark skill. I would assume a thunder staff would make it more effective, or possibly a dark staff. Can anyone put some input on this? Thanks.

Ah dangit i misspelled Effectiveness XD.

It is a thunder based spell. But the spell is rarely resisted at all.

The only time the spell got resisted is when you cast it on thunder based or earth based mobs. Which in this case I don't think staves will be able to help.

Diabolos resists stun. May as well do everything you can to cut down on it.

Since the element of the spell is lightning, Thunder Staff is the correct choice. Dark magic is the school of magic that it's in, but that doesn't necessarily associate it with the dark element.

Actually I've seen Thunder Staff used with Stun and it does help by improving the average stun duration. If you're just using it to interrupt a spell like Firaga III, then you're not going to see much mileage. I also saw it tested with Jupiter's Staff (HQ Thunder) and the effect was again improved.

The only time I've noticed stun being improved(not to say I've never seen it half-resisted or resisted entirely) was on a NM(Faust to be exact) two years ago, when I ES'd stunned and it was stunned for a good 5 seconds. It might of been lag on my part or someone could of just stunned and I missed it due to lag... but I don't remember lagging.
