  • Just another day at the exp grind...

This was just too funny and I had to share my party experiance with you all

First off I should say that there was a rather nasty windstorm that day, nothing too bad, or so I thought at the time.....

So, after about 3 months, the quarter is finally over and I decide to go out and get an exp party for the first time in a rather long time. I pull out my lvl 20 sam, stick up my LFG flag, and start looking for a party. There aren't enough people to make a party LFG, so I decide to wait.

While I'm waiting, I'm talking with a friend. I mention that I'm LFG and no invites yet, and that there aren't any people to make a party with, and that I know when I decide to log I'll get a party.

Fast forward about an hour or two with a few failed solo attempts, getting drenched in pineapple juices and singed whiskers in failed synths, and running in confounding circles around people, I send a /tell to my friend:

Me: Hmmm, looks like no party tonight, allrighty then! I'm torn, I can either do the Venerer ring quest, or I can go play the new Zelda, what do you think I should do?

    Chops: New Zelda > ring

Me: That's the direction I was leaning in Ok, I'm gonna log, night Chops =^.^=

Random person: Hey, do you want to join a party?

I thought that was great, exactly as the timeout timer hit 5 seconds, that person sent the /tell. So I go and join the party, and things are going well. It's a pretty good party, hunting worms and crabs and going really well. Since I used up my last charge on my exp ring, I recharged it and have another use so I'm ready for some serious exp.

15 minutes into the party, power goes out, about 2 minutes later it comes back up, great I think. I start logging back in, when the power goes out again.

2 days later, we have power again, 3 days later, the phonelines are back up.

For my first party in 3 months, I was just dying of laughter, I found the entire sequence of events too funny.

Sadly I don't think that party is still waiting for me to log back in

Makes me wonder what'll happen the next time I try to get a party. Will Mt. Rainer erupt? Will an asteroid the size of Texas hit the Earth? Find out next week!

If that ever happened to me and I got a good PT there would only be a sequences of phrases that goes along the lines of "FUCK!!!! WHY ME?!?!?! GOD DAMNIT!!!!! JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". I'm glad you can take it in so lightly ^ ^ I'm in envy

WHOAH! Does that ALWAYS happen to you, everytime you start logging out, you get a /tell asking you for a xp party? (and just when you're about 5 seconds away from being completely logged out too? Good grief! )

If that was me, I'd be in 2 minds about what to do, and would be racking my brain with angst as I am forced to think very fast on my feet before I get logged out!

This happens to me, also. I'll be just about to log off because I need to go somewhere, or I'll be too tired to even see, and I'll get an invite, whether I'm LFP or not.

I always seem to get them after I've just finished PT'ing, also. :/

When you've been LFP for a long time it sucks to have to say {No thanks.} but I've had to do that so much these past few weeks it's been ridiculous. I figure there will always be another time.

It's rough being up all night long, with nothing to do but boring stuff like farm. And then, when I'm way too tired to stay up any longer, I get a /tell inviting me to pt. And it's a very polite Rank 10 JP. And I have to turn them down.

Ah, yeah, I had problems with that windstorm, too. We were out of power for only 15 hours or so, though. Luckily, I wasn't playing FF11, but the Sims 2. I lost like three (in-game) days! But I made it up later.

Haha Vyuru, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

-Got an invite after 3 hours of "no go" on my RDM as I planned to logout. Get to camp only to find 3 of the party members d/c for the night, because they are friends irl and New York just got visited by the most awesome thunderstorm in years... >.>

-Got an invite on my DRK after several months of no exp and get to camp only to find the JP party had disbanded while I was enroute and no one told me (Only the nice WHM waited for me to tele me out of Ro'Maeve >.> )
