    Re: Being Past Up

I wasn't comlainng about being slow.

I just think it os funny that, people who I helped out when they started. Were two months later high enought to help me get through some though spots.

      Re: Being Past Up

For me it's always been about helping other people out. I quit my old main Mishka when I hit 60 Thf, because I wanted to start over as Hume Male rather than Mithra.

I still put her to use in my ls, but not often.

Just this weekend, I led 10 members from my ls through the entirety of Mission 4: magicite. It was the best time we all had. None of them were higher than level 36, and it was dangerous enough for them being in areas with IT+++ mobs, it took forever having to get all the items needed, multiple trips out to beaudeax, but we had fun. That's where the fun in the game is for me. Helping other people. And if you asked anyone in my ls, they'd tell you just that about me.

          Re: Being Past Up

Much like TDH (and others) I just rushed to endgame (RDM is at 73, so not quite 75, but oh well) so I could be a bit more self-sufficient than I was when I started. I did that in about 4-5 months, but I had the benefit of not having to farm, and having already been through the content (pre-TOAU) before. And I was a RDM. I'm just saying.

Now I'm taking it easy. But as Icemage and others have said, any pace is fine.

            Re: Being Past Up

Two-plus years under my belt, and I've yet to reach 75. I'm not sweating it though, with two kids it's almost impossible for me to find time to play, so I'm glad for the time I've gotten in-game. And I have a blast, no matter what I'm doing. I spend a lot of time doing other things besides leveling.

Yeah, it kind of bothers me when I see people who were way lower than me just a few months ago catch up and then even surpass me, but when I take into account everything else I've done in the game and in my RL in the past two years, I feel a lot better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is more to the game than achieving high levels.

Sure it's nice, but not necessary. Just have fun! That's what it's all about!

              Re: Being Past Up

You shouldn't worry about how fast people progress through the game, even if it's a hell of a lot more faster than you do.

In all seriousness, you really should just enjoy your low levels and go at your own pace -- who knows, you're probably having more fun than the people who exp grind like there's no tomorrow and get burnt out (I know I've been there).

I spent forever (around 1.5 years) by just getting 2 jobs up to level 40. Then after that everything seemed to move quicker (a year later and I have a 75, a 65 and a few other 40 along with heaps of capped weapons and abilities.

"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."

                Re: Being Past Up

In my 9th month of FFXI. My high level is only a 40 BLM, but also have my WHM at 36. I also have a DRK in the 20s, and several jobs in the teens. As part of a static LS, I don't grind as much as I like, and that is the reason I'm only 40 (and have a ton of side jobs going) It is just so hard to get 4 of us on at once!!

                Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

Not true! If you're not doing things to my specifications, you are, in fact, doing things wrong.

I'm very disappointed in you Kirsteena. Very disappointed, indeed.

                        Re: Being Past Up

A long time ago I thought I was so cool to have Raise. I went to the dunes and PL'd some folks for fun and passed out raises where they were needed. I made friends with a lady that had only recently started playing. I later PL'd her BLM sub a little and a month later joined a LS she started. I helped her with rank missions and the whole nine.

By the time I got to 50 and needed my LB1 items I asked her for help. She was then level 73 and got one of her 75 MNK friends to come with. She got LB items for both me and my wife in very short order.

No point, just a nice story ^^
