    Re: Remembering Your First

April-May 04 I started in Shiva using a 12 letter name, also a different hume model. Spent around 3 days learning the basics and deleted that char. Then took my time making and remaking chars until I found the one I liked the most (and a shorter name ) , got on Fenrir server that time.

And I've been playing regularly since, except for some moving to another city/apartment periods where I can't play for a while (2 months being the longest time).

PS > I was the guy running around the mob trying to evade attacks.

Really good times, Vana seemed so huge at the time.

LOL, was actually talking about that last night with friends while we farmed Eyes. Decided pretty much anyone who's never played an MMO before thought the same thing.

Wife and I created characters at the same time, but got whisked off to different servers (Phoenix and Leviathan). Being more personable, she got a kind Taru in windurst to give her a WP number so I could switch

Heheh, yup, it was my first MMOG.

I really didn't even know these games existed till I heard about MxO, but since development was gonna take more than a year I started searching for other games to play while I waited, that's how I stumbled upon XI.

And I'm so glad I started playing, otherwise after playing the piece of trash called MxO I would've quit the genere and never look back.

            Re: Remembering Your First

Early November 2003. I waited for the initial rush of the NA release before jumping in. After a month a friend of mine said I had to try FFXI. Myself and several other online friends got our copies with a months time and started to play.

Started out with about 6 friends that I static'd with for the first year or so. Now its down 3, with 1 probably quitting in the near future due to getting engagged. While I have made lots of friends along the way that I enjoy hanging out with... over time the game just isnt the same when the people you started with are all gone but you still have fun with new friends.

                Re: Remembering Your First

June 23, 2003. I was one of the few lucky ones to get into the FFXI PC Beta.

                Hume 5-B Male - Warrior - Bastok - Alcroth

I popped in front of the flint stone quest home in Bastok Markets. I didnt even know how to walk, let alone check the menu. I was too lazy to read any instructions and just started to play, excited mainly about the Final Fantasy title. The only previous MMORPG I had played before FFXI was Earth and Beyond. I dont remember much in Beta, except that we levelled fast... and found Behe in Qufim?

                October 30, 2003.

Opting not to stay in Midgarsormr, where most of the Beta people went, I followed a friend to Fenrir.

                Elvaan 1-A Male - Monk - Bastok - Alcroth

I had tried watching the intros to the other nations (sandy and windy), but it just never grasped my attention. Bastok on the other hand... Cornelia! Lion!

                November 5, 2003.

Found a friend from Earth and Beyond MMO who played in Bismarck. Deleted Elvaan and moved servers with a world pass.

Hume 2-B Female - Red Mage - Bastok - Caleo

Impressed with the solo skills and magics that Red Mage possessed, thus began my long FFXI adventure. Choosing a girl character, I just decided that since I was going to be looking at my screen for a long time, I may as well find something attractive to look at. Found alot of friends, especially Mavelle and Mavcos, two German players in NA PC release. Formed Unrockbar on November 15(?) under Mid-dark blue linkshell. Unrockbar was primarily a proud Bastokan-only linkshell, until UnrockbarII, when we decided to allow other nations to join.

Formed friends with alot of people: Futch (original Futch was my first friend in Bismarck), Mavelle, Mavcos, Jeirith, Tazirai, Tredvolt, Aribeth, Mathias, Hulken, Invokyblizy, Cimeria, Althena, Cabeelfwarrior, Gobo, Earas, Kepogata, Nekaru, Raamo, Zelek, Azuriah, Munsey, Phoeby, Shyne, Mithkabob, Ravenous, Ralph, Kenpu, Chato, Katchup, Blgnasty, Estonia, Casty, Madmartigan, Bobmarley, Akroma, Cinna, Escalente, Sassavi, Dasani, Carrotlee, Errata, Macross, Konohamaru, Yellowskins, Mononoke, Dew, Kasper, Eckskalibur, Aleyna, Archere, Aahirii, Arwene, Ashira, Azdel, Beniyahou, Blazor, Bodkn, Bryan, Burgess, Butterfly, Daniella, Eliar, Falen, Fire, Firemoth, Garou, Graciel, Grimson, Havenx, Hayatoru, Hungar, Hvac, Iome, Jigga, Joei, Jwb, Kagehoshi, Katelin, Lilpeach, Lui, Marcus, Merenwen, Negichan, Temptress, Starxion, Wednesday, Raqia, Wildchild, Zetsumei, Zinedane, Zwickee, Tres, Monokiri, Vangelico, Laomedon, Penelope, Armyofone, Iverin, Dawnkeeper, Melocke, Easy, Xenoth, Macey, Jawas, Duwie, Hephaestus, Xaphorax, Cheryll, Gudan, Sendo, Elfzombie, Ladyriku, Oddessa, Godbae, Merenwen, Kfcc, Wasenshi, Cletian, Moonpie, Ethan, Gutsu, Dudelittle, Littlemama, Kazin, Battosi, Bluemary, Zuvor, Celestin, Dunpeald, Sharpshooter, Duesch, Naruko, Peone, Qumdi, Mentalblock, Xaphire, Setadoon, Stephanie... and many more names I cant recall atm...

The old nickname for Matrix Online.

It's from back when UBI still had the forums, long story short, the games a Geiger created online for forum users were 100 times better than what the game turned out to be.

Let me put it this way, Enter the Matrix has been the greatest Matrix game ever, and at least 10 times better than MxO.

I remember getting tons of gil from guys, I ended up getting 70k all together and I never asked.

I soon realized it was because I was a girl, I thought they were just kind people D:

I met my 2 best friends (on FFXI) soon after, we hung out a lot. Now I just hang out with 1 of them, I'm not sure what happened to the other..

I saved a guy from a Yagudo, it was huge for me.
