Five hours yesterday killing lizards in the Dangruf Wadi so that I can get a lizard egg. Still haven't got one, no matter how much stealing and killing.

I updated the wiki to show they're needed for Bastock Mission 2-2 on the actuall lizard egg page.

I have a ton of useless beastcoins though

Lol maybe you should read the page to find out that you can just buy one on the AH... for like 100-500g.

That's probably the point where I would just cash out all the drops I'd gotten from that, and just bought an egg off the AH.

BTW, not all the lizards there drops eggs. I think you have to go to one of the deepest parts of Dangruf to fight Steam Lizards.

This does bring back some memories though. I remember doing this with 2 other PS2 rookies back in the day, with help from a friend who had been playing here and there since the NA PC release. Ah, we were so naive back then...

luckily as DRG, most of my coffer keys were in areas where I was XPing anyway (Quicksand Caves, Kuftal Tunnel, Boyahda). The exception was Ifrit's but I managed to get that one pretty quickly when my ls did a Bomb Queen run.

I think the most trouble I had with AF was getting the Boyahda coffer. They're all easy to get to but they pop near xp camps a lot so they can get snagged pretty quickly.

Or you can buy one in the Ah for a couple of hundred gill, much easier....

Edit ok Ameroth beat me too it but for bastok missions its easier to buy the items for 1-3 & 2-2 than try and get them yourself. if the AH doesn't have them other mobs you can farm would be higher level lizards i.e. ill lizards, war lizzards (see all lizzies that drop it here ) you get the picture, the drop rates are usually a bit better.

Also looking at your character info, which lizzards were you farming? Only steam lizzards on the 2nd level drop the egg, not the rock lizards.

I was killing steam lizards. Got nothing on the stealing or dropping.

I don't mind the fetish stuff, it usually drops quick and I have other quests up there that I can work on will waiting form to drop it.

15 hours (across 5 separate attempts) for Castle O coffer key. Ended up dropped after an hour with an alliance just for my key. Then took another 6-7 hours just to find the coffer, thanks to Astral rings being in Castle O coffers. I was actually kind of mad when they patched that.

I've been fairly fortunate when it comes to Coffer drops. AF hands have been my only real problem. Those damn bones in the Necropolis have always hated. I usually try to go ahead of time to get the key so when the time comes, I've already done the stressful part. I just wander through as /RDM and Sneak/Invis myself to the coffer.

That having been said, it did take me 5 days of about 3 hours or more killing Topaz Quadavs for my DRK AF3 pop item. I went solo, which didn't really speed up the process, but I was getting skill ups.

Actually Eldieme and Crawlers' Nest are both really easy coffers. You need one high level partner to search Eldieme, and no help at all to search CN. Plus there's a bunch of stuff that drops keys in both zones, and the drop rates aren't quite as stupidly silly as beastman coffer keys.

That stupid Tavnazian Bell that Taskmage mentioned, on the other hand, is a pain - it normally doesn't have a terrible drop rate, but the spawn rate on the Spriggans is depressingly low, and there aren't many of them.

Longest I waited was for that damnable Paper for LB1. I had all the help you could want, 2 75whms, 2 75thf, 3 75nin, and a couple of various riff raff that came along. Didn't expect so many to show up, I asked one 75whm buddy of mine for help, she brought a bunch of ppl from her LS (which I am a member of now ^^). But we started at about noon one saturday, killed for about 12 hours, with people coming and going as things came up. I was the only one needing a paper, yet not a single drop for over 12 hours! They called it a night with me having no paper.

Came back the next day with just my 75whm buddy and got it first kill >.>

Coffer Keys I never had trouble with, 75thf/nin soloed all of them for me while I was afk ^^ Just kidding, I did stick around and haste him from time to time, skilled up divine and enfeebling while I was at it too.

Coffers weren't too bad, except Garliage Citadel. Got past the gates one night, but no coffer. So we all leave (I was the only mage that could escape, they wanted to go, so I couldn't camp it). Second attempt at getting past the gates, bunch of buds from my social LS get past gate 1 just fine, but after losing about 10K exp in death trying to get past another gate, I called quits. But I finally got that damnable condom hat as a level 75whm. Still had to camp for the coffer waiting for a spawn, but I so enjoyed killing all those mobs that took that 10k exp from me that night. Oh yea, thats right, Mr. Skelly had that Banish III followed by a cure 5 coming to him. And I waited for him to spawn a couple more times just to watch him die over and over.

I'm thinking I'm the only whm in the world that didn't get my condom hat till 75

I never had too horrid of a wait for most things. When I did my AF legs for WAR (Castle Zvahl), I went with a small alliance. Everyone got their keys within a half hour except me, who stayed for the next 5-6 hours while the alliance went from 11 to 7 to 6 to 4... We actually gave up, our high level help left, leaving a whm, 2 plds, 2 wars (all level 55-60) and I fought one more eye just to use my 2 hour and - tada! - it dropped.

I had a PLD friend in my LS that estimated a total of over 30 hours trying to get his Beauuoaidouoeiuwoix coffer key in assorted pick-up parties. He quit the game about a month after he finally got the key.

After camping out in Qulun dome, trying to get a Beadeaux coffer key to drop, for over 7 hours last night (and still no drop), it got me wondering how long everyone else has gone trying to get drops like these. My previous record was two 3 hr shifts in Davoi before getting a key to drop.
Anyone else had something like this happen?

Wow, 7 hours? That sucks man, I feel for ya. I had similar luck with my Garlaige key, but the Beadeaux key dropped on the first kill. I never intend on going back there either. >.>

Worst thing that ever happened to me was trying to unlock Summoner. I spent at least 15 hours killing leeches, with and without help, before I finally got that ruby.

AF was pretty easy, with the Boyahda Tree being the easist. The key dropped on the second mob, and about 5 minutes later the coffer practically spawned on me. I think my hardest AF coffer would have to be the quicksand caves, mostly because it can be hard sometimes to find a safe spot to reapply sneak.

I'm just glad I'm not a thief who has to steal their AF item from some beastyman though

Longest coffer key was probably Beadaux, probably around 7+ hours of farming. G1, the paper from the liches, that took around 6+ hours; hunt was for three of us in my LS, took 5.5 hours for the first one to drop, and then 30 minutes for the next two.
