Ragnarok Online is even more diverse when it comes to the looks. Each class looks way differnt than another, and there are tons of headgears and dyes for the clothes. I've ran a RO server for a few years, lol.
Again, play more to give it a fair chance. you havent even cracked the surface at lvl 20.

i posted a link that shows you some of the different job specific armor you get after 50.

really, judging this game at lvl 20 is like saying your sports team is going to lose after watching the first quarter.

look at the link i posted on the 2nd page. or even just run around in jeuno and see all the different armor people are wearing there.

Art is personal preference. If you don't like how the game looks, that's all understandable. But don't call the game lame just because it doesn't match your style.

Explain in detail what you mean. There are endless amounts of armor sets to wear. I would suggest you have "town gear", but your problem seems to be against all armor itself. Explain ;o.

Personally, I've found that if you buy a set of armor (as someone said upthread) and wear it when not in parties, it makes things quite a bit more fun. When I'm on my WHM, for example, I tend to wear my Raven's set because it really is something that you don't see people wearing (the full set, that is) very often. It also just looks adorable on Tarus, but doesn't everything?

I guess I'm lucky that, on Fenrir, 90-95% of the time, Windurst is in 1st. I very rarely have to worry about getting gear from my starting city, if I need to. My only annoyance is waiting for bastok to slip past Sandy for second, so that I can level up windy fame

Lets settle this once and for all

This is 100% true don't judge the game just cause the ppl at S-E don't waste their time making thousands of dress combinations..
In all honistly imagine the update time /space it would take up

Rember FF7 to be fair the manga graphics looked like road kill but C-S's looked awesome and the story was gold.
Lastly let me say this after my exile to oblivion i noted that there is only so much you can do to a game before you over do it and make it rubbish.

Yes anyone playing for a week would realise that theres not a lot of different gear to see but the gear thats always seen on ppl is there for a good reason it's usually the best gear you can get

It ain't tanking unless you get hit
To those who are about to tank I salute you.

                  Re: Lacking Diversity.

Well, I look at the 'lack' of low lvl gear choices like this. When you first start the game, when you first start 'your' story, you're a new adventurer. You're just starting out and don't have the experiences needed to be the super tough hero in teh ubar cool armor. You're the new guy and you use the basic stuff, and in the game the basic stuff looks the part. As you get higher, stronger, more experienced(both literally and figurativly) you start gaining the newer, stronger gear and the like. But then again I got an RPish personality so it's easy for me to think like that.

Comparing this game to PSU, a game which lets you use clothing for nothing more the outward appearence and has a very indepth character creation system, I can honsetly say I feel more 'unique' playing FFXI. For whatever reason, I was able to connect more to my FFXI character and his look more then I could to my PSU character and his much more 'customized' look. I guess it's due to having done so many more unique things in FFXI then PSU or something, but regardless in the end it's not the outward appearence that makes my character feel unique, it's everything else about him.

If the lack of low lvl armor bothers you so much though, it might be best to try a different game. As I said before, PSU has a very indepth character creation and clothing system, why not give that a whirl.
