Anyone got any tips on Stray Mary

I have camped this sheep for a couple of days now usualy up to 2 hours of killing the place holders and have never once seen her.... i even had a bst friend help me about 3 days ago and could not get her to pop so any info would be very helpful!

Sub ranger, get on a chocobo, run about, use widescan alot.

If its just for cash then using the sheepskins from the place holders for sheep leather (1 dark crystal, 1 distiled water, 1 windurst tea leaf and 1 sheapskin) if its for the horn the only thing i can say is be patient

O i deffiently need the horn.... i would just buy the stinking thing but it is way to much money.... sigh at what level does rng get wide scan?

I've tried camp this NM a couple times. I never seen it pop even once seriously. Probably just luck...

ranger can wide scan since level 1.

I have an LS mate that hunts her on occasion while crafting leathergoods. If you craft the skins, it's not so bad, but it has a tendency to be a long camp. THF/RNG is excellent here. Mary's Horn isn't terribly common so expect to come back a few times. You can't really employ a chocobo since you have to kill the placeholders, but it really helps if you can one-shot the sheep. You can, however, use a chocobo to "cherry-pick" the spawn since there are usually quite a few people hunting sheep in Konschtat while waiting for a party in Valkurm (or hunting Stray Mary/Leather goods themselves). If you can, hunt the rams too and do Purple Belt if you're able to kill the NM--the rams spawn just a bit east of stray mary's zone.

exactly how does it word? does it just show me where n/m's are on the map or does it show me other things? whats the radius on it?

Click "Show NM" on the right side of the screen to display the NM spawn areas.

you go to the map menu, and there will be a wide scan there, normally it will be greyed out. It lists every NPC/monster around you. for a certain radius I can't tell for sure.

I farm sheepskins in Konschtat here and there. Seen her pop twice, got the claim both times, only milk. I like going there to farm skins because of the off chance that she'll show up and drop it.

You know, I had bad luck with this one too. I'd camp with my ranger with full widescan range and havent seen her pop once. Ive done this oh, for probably a total of 8-10 hours. lots of sheepskin and ramskins though -_-

Yeah i just unlocked rng last night. Im going to lvl it to 15 and camp her as my rdm/rng....

I hate her too.... Camped it for about eight hours one day and never saw it pop. What a drag.

just kill all the sheep in the middle-west part of the map (yes it can pop at very weird places, once i saw it almost near to valkurm dunes entrance) good luck!
