  • Anyone ever had this before? (Blog comments from RMT sites.)

A friend alerted me today to this little gem on my blogs comments:
    ------------------

    Dear Sir/Madam:

We are impressed by your blog's enhanced design and navigation. Could we advertize on your blog?

Edited out.com is a leading provider of virtual currency provided to the Massively Multiplayer online community with about 2 year of experience. Till now, we have served over 100,000 Happy game players.
We hope very much to promorte our site by advertising in your blog.

You can reach us on any of the email addresses below. Please allow up
to 24 hours for us to respond.

    Email: >.>
    MSN: <.<
    yahoo message:V.V
    icq: ^.^
    aol: -.-

We look forward to receiving your favorable and prompt reply.

We hope that this letter is the first step to establishment of a long
    and pleasant relationship.

    Sincerely

    Lol
    RMT

    ---------------

Now, I'm flattered that they think my blog has "enhanced design and navigation", but, this is a completely new step of RMT, at least to me. Of course, I'm refusing the offer. There won't be no response from me, favourable or otherwise.

Has anyone else had this happen on their blogs, if anyone here happens to maintain one? I've had a nose around other players blogs that I read, but none of them seem to have had this.

Just thought it was interesting, in an odd sort of way.

I think I've gotten an email like this before, but I just trashed it right away...I've also gotten PM's on these forums for RMT on here. =/ They seem to be freaking everywhere, they are literally like cockroaches. You just can't get rid of them however much you want to, and it'd take some type of anti-onlycockroaches-bomb to finally rid ourselves of them. Not saying that nothing is being done, and that there isn't an effect, because there is. Just they still regroup, and come back with more numbers. @_@

The best thing is to just ignore it, right? =/

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

I like how the instantly assume that you're like more than thrilled to be having them select you for their RMT trash.

We used to have a forum for our drg ls. Rmt groups joined up and before the admin could take care of it, the whole site was littered with links to rmt sites. It happened in a matter of days.

We've seen a few emails like that around here. Just goes to show how much of a problem RMT has become when they can spend time doing things like this.

Very similar to the messages that were sent to our admins a while ago too. Same format, same words...

              PMs and LSForum messages too?

              They're everywhere!

Can't say I'm surprised that they've been in contact with this site, though :p

Still, this was a new tactic to me - never heard of that happening until today.

Y'know, it's funny you should mention that. Was doing a job application letter in French some time ago, and we got a phrase that was basically the same as "prompt and favourable reply" - which we were told not to use, since it 1. Is kinda rude, showing you EXPECT to get what you're asking for, and 2. Shows that you're a bit desperate, too

Why'd you edit out the name of the site? Usually people only avoid using names like this because they wish to tell about someone who wronged them but they do not wish to humiliate them. Why bother caring whether or not you'll make an RMT site look bad? We all hate them anyway, so why not just tell us what site it was so that we can have another reason to hate 'em.

If I remember right, the site was BroGames.com; unless that's from another one of the 4,206,969 RMT topics.

In fact, I went to BroGames @ school yesterday and joined a live chat with one of the sales reps. Her name was sue, mine was eagerbeaver. We chatted it up for a while; I mentioned something about if helping loser kids cheat in online games gets her off at night. It was great fun, until she asked me if I was interested in a purchase. I promptly told her to go get hit by a bus.

Re: Anyone ever had this before? (Blog comments from RMT sites.)

I edited the name out because people on Alla had gotten worked up about it on my post over there, so I thought it might be wise to do the same here.

I'm trying to remember why I stopped posting there...

                    Wait.

Remembered. People get worked up about the smallest things >.<
