SE's Special Task Force Unit has been doing a very nice job whacking cheaters with a ban stick. Normally, cheaters aren't a big problem, and after a while it's fairly easy to tell when someone is cheating. On top of that, it's cheating usually doesn't have drastic effects on other players in a very short time. Now then, STiLLER is a top-notch hacker who like Cliff(windower's creator), probably knows as much about FFXI's system as the programers do. If this is to detailed, Moderators feel free to edit it. For a while though, STiLLER has been working on a program that has everything; Fleetool, Windower, PoS, and even Packet Injection, and for those of you who don't know, if done properly it lets you pull items out of thin air. This christmas STiLLER is releasing a Lite version of the tool which only contains the known tricks already out their, but I fear what will happen if he releases the full version to the public on a pay-per-prog like some other high tech tools...

Packet Injection has existed for ages, but it was almost never used because it was way to risky. 99.8% of people who tried packet injection where banned within the hour, but if STiLLER found a way around this... I just hope that STFU can keep up.

Precisely. It tells SE's database to generate X item in player Y's invintory. Like I said, it's hard to pull it off but... never underestimate STiLLER.

Even though STFU (... *giggle*) is doing a good job banning the cheaters and RMT's from the game, they still havn't completely wiped them out. So if STiLLER does manage to create a way around getting banned through that program... then I can honestly say without a doubt that we're all boned.

I don't know if anyone has had as bad as repurcussions from RMT (due to the Christmas season, which is prime time for the RMT companies) as Alexander has, but our economy is going downhill fast (a stack of silk thread is down to a measly 10-15k, a stack of beastman blood has gone down to 48k, etc...) and it's very difficult for players to farm decent drops without having to deal with RMT PTs' camping in almost every area.

So if this program makes it mainstream and can fall into anyone's posession, having the capability to obtain any item in the game with the blink of an eye, then the economy will fall to a point where you can buy a scorpion harness for 1 gil.

Thats what I'm hoping/ If this does happen... I'll just have to get the program to solo the rest of ZM and CoP storyline before servers get shut down >.>

I hope SE learned a lesson from this MMO and makes the game based on PoL servers and not home computers(i.e., the game runs over at SE's, it just displays on your screen. That way packet injection, pos warping and fleetool will be all but imposible)

Onion, since you seem to have more knowledge about this than anyone else on these forums, why not send the Special task force information about it:



Just replace the stuff about character names with all the info you know about this program, plus possibly links to websites/forums/what-not that the Special Task force can use learn more about the program and possibly prevent this from ever seeing the light of day.
