The gil is essentially gone. If people stopped putting gil into the game thru NPCs, transportation, AHs and Dynamis it wouldn't stop the flow of gil going back to the players. They are two seperate streams.

I agree though, npc pricing on gear is typically pretty insane, especially when compared to the game generated rewards from quests ect

One easy solution is to sell things in Jeuno instead of Whitegate and Al-Zhabi

Be careful when you do this, though, particularly when the Free Warp Taru isn't around and you have to resort to the Pay Warp Taru.

Are you going to save more than the value of an Imperial Silver Piece if you head to Jeuno to sell your wares? If not, you may be better off waiting for the Free Warp Taru to return, or selling the items in Whitegate if you need it in a pinch.

I only use the pay taru anyway so that I can get to Sandy if I need to, but you make a good point
