  • New with question about Quests.

I started playing like yesterday. Or a before I don't know.

My problem however is the fact that I don't see what NPCs give quests. In WoW they had a really big question mark floating above their head. How can I recognize NPCs that give out quests? So far I've only down the Mine quest in Bastok, and the first mission.

You just have to talk to people and listen to what they say. Just walk around and accept all the quests you can. There's no neon yellow sign over anybody's heads to show you. Or go to a site like www.ffxiclopedia.org and check out the quest listings.

Ah, so you just really have to talk to them before you know if they have quests.

Good, I thought I was getting blind . Thanks for your answer

You also have a quest log in your main menu that will show you what quests you have active. That way you don't end up asking the same NPC 500 times to get a quest.

They also tell you what people you have to report to after the quest or mission is complete atleast I think so...I dont remember. But they also post missions and stuff like that, and the more missions you win your rank will go up wich will access you to even better stuff in the game. Their is more but I dont remember it all its been awile.

just to add stuff: The last guy mentioned Fame...this is important because unless you have enough fame in the pace you want to do a quest...you may not be able to get it.

I spent ages getting max fame in the 3 cites and Tenshendo fame for Ninja Scoll quests...

BTW: WoW is a beginner's MMO...Marking NPCs that give out quests is for beginers! Most quests in other MMOs(like everyquest) and things you just trip over or talk to random NPCs to get XD

I believe it I heard that WoW is easy and cheap thats why alot of people play it because they dont want to take the time to farm, do quests, etc...in FFXI because its HARD. But, thats just what I think, and yes fame is very important in FFXI just try to make you city #1 and do missions to make your rank and fame go up!
