Ok, I'm thinking of picking this up. Just one question, the Additional Effect: Weakens defense, would that be overridden by an En- Spell?

I believe the en-spells are classified as 'additional effects' , so yes, I do think it'll override the def-down.
(However, because I am a Paladin and not a Red Mage, if someone who has the weapon says differently, take their word
)

Back when I was using corrosive dagger I remember that the defense down effect would never proc when I had an en-spell on, so Guespiere is probably the same. If it's at all possible for you to get some friends to help you get Joyeuse, I'd say save your money. Yeah, it's a pain to camp the NM, but I'd say the effort is less than or equal to the effort of raising the 800k that Guespiere goes for on my server.Comment
