Re: FFXI is ruining my life
I think most players went through this period though, specially if this is your first MMOG.
The world is so freaking big and there are so many things to do that you get overloaded. But that's temporary, not many would go as far as to quit everything for the game, and if they did the fact of not being able to pay the fee would make them quit anyway.
In my case I spent like 3 months mostly doing nothing but play in my free time. I never neglected my job or anything, but I certainly spend most of my free time playing onry.
But after a few months you start organizing your time much better, you learn how to plan your game time acording to what you are gonna do that day. If you don't have anything better to do or that interests you then it's ok to spend your free time playing as long as you don't neglect your obligations like school or your health.
Think of it this way, if you study and get a good job you'll be able to play XI or whatever MMOG you are playing in a huge screen with the latest computer and sound systems money can buy, you can make a good gaming room if you own a house too.
So being succesful in life can also enhance your game experience.
Moral of the story, play as much as you can but go back to school so you can get a really good job, so you can play more and do other stuff, RL is very much like XI, except that in the real crafts are the way to go.
