  • Enhances 'x' effects and Slayer Kilijs

Now, I looked around for some info on this, and according to posts on Alla, "Enhances" effects such as Enhances Resist Bind effect and the new Enhances Vermin Killer effect give you the effect if you don't have it. I'm just trying to verify that this is in fact the case since I don't trust Alla farther than I can throw them and you can't throw a website...

Basically, the 4 new Slayer Kilijs appear to be useful because Blue Mages cannot acquire these 4 killer effects (Vermin, Aquan, Demon, and Dragon) without resorting to a sub-job. If they need to have a special subjob to use them, then these items are worth no more than the component sword. I'm not saying the "killer effect" is worth much, but hey, I'd sure like to make 10-20k on a synth with a chance at an HQ on a nice +MP sword.

As a secondary thing, I've been looking over the weapons for BLU and I can see that in the same level range as Darksteel Kilij there is the Jagdplaute, Ifrit's Blade, Leech Scimitar, Wing Sword, and Rune Blade. Obviously, the Darksteel Kilij is of limited use versus these big boys, and the Killer Kilijs will only be useful in certain circumstances.

Re: "Enhances: <x>" effects and Slayer Kilijs

"Enhances Tarutaru killer effect" does indeed give you the killer effect even if you don't have it, I use Bibiky Seashell (Enhances Aquan killer) while getting skill on Steelshels and the effect triggers very often.

I haven't parsed a thing but I'm positive your CHR affects the rate at which the "Crabby is intimidated by a Seashell" effect kicks in.

There is a significant amount of CHR boosting in the BLU mage spells as well... One could definitely see an advantage in certain circumstances.

Yuck... my post title looks like someone threw up on it! All of my beautiful punctuation has been turned into unintelligible html-coding strings.

        Original (nice) title:

I'm sure there's a moral right there concerning grammar Nazis and stuff.

Can't find it, but I'm sure it's there.

PS > It's still kinda easy to guess the title of thread though, I just hope they fix that sometime soon.

Sort of fixed. Best I can do under the circumstances.

I can confirm that all "Enhance Killer Effect" items actually do grant you the trait if you do not have it, and also strengthen any existing effects.

Yeah, sorry what you see there with the title is a result of fixing a bug people were using to redirect our site. Funny that they still tried redirecting our site like 4 times after we made that change, took them a while to realize that didn't work anymore.
