  • Do you have mules? I started using this tool.

I have several mules. I hate buying things more than once and I like to try different jobs so I started hanging on to gear. I have 3 mules of just gear, Armor, Weapons, and Accessories.

Well I loan out gear to LS-Friends. Sometimes I forget where I had something who has something and so forth.

I spotted this niffty utilitiy over at FFXI Mod Community.

AltanaCubby without even being logged into the POL viewer it reads your character data and displays the items in your Inventory, Safe, Storage and Locker. I totally think it is legit and am not worried about it being spyware or anything because you don't even have to have POL open, therefore it couldn't recoord your ID password.

It is from the same guy who made Altanaview

    an awesome model viewer.

This seems interesting (I have 5 mules myself), but I'm a little hesitant to try it.

I knew that the indexing for items in storage areas was saved on a per computer/PS2 basis, but are the names of the items? If so, why is Internet Explorer needed...?

Umm, Internet Explorer is not needed. The picture is AltanaCubby's interface. It is very straight forward, just tabs for inventory, safe, storage and so on. And then it just lists the items in each, and you can sort it several ways. It reads the character data from your POL folder in your Programs folder.

I have been using it for 2 weeks and it seems simple and harmless. I may use fraps to screen cap the lists and post the pictures on my LS message board incase, LS members want to borrow any of my gear.

If IE isn't needed, then they shouldn't have it listed under "Requirements"

Thanks for the reply, though. I might give this a shot.

That looks cool. The only thing I could see that needing at all is a quantity tracker for stacked items.

Rai, you are my hero. I have almost 20 mules and alts and I spend over an hour just to peek at what I have and figure out who's going to the AH to put up what. This saves me a butt load of time trying to track down where all the items are.

              O_O 20 mules..... 20 mules.....

I have 6 mules, I only really need 3 maybe but when I think of a name I like I see if I can make a mule. Like Grizzly, I watched a show about Grizzly Bears so I made a Galka called Grizzly. Or Twerp I thought a great name for a Taru would be Twerp, I 1st tried making a Taru named KneeHigh but it was taken so I thought hmm, Twerp!

2 accounts. It's stupid to not have any mules on one account lol ... only because if you're trying to get something on one account, then you have to log out of that account just to get what you want on the mule on that account.

Which is why I found it so much easier to dedicate one main as melee and the other main on the 2nd account as a mage. Split up gear and weapons and you have a winner.
