POL ID invalid/password

Hi I haven't play the game for nearly over a year and decided to come back. I reinstalled everything and i put in my pol id and pw. I remember it and that it is correct. Then i get POL ID invalid/password error. Does FFXI delete accounts? and if so is it gone for good or would i have to wait and hope they have another Welcome back to Vana'diel to get my char back?

I don't remember if S-E deletes or deactivates PlayOnline logins due to inactivity (possible for an account that has had no activity for more than a year). You'll want to call PlayOnline Support and ask them what happened to your POL Account (and ask them about your characters while you're at it - some people have managed to get back on with no problems, others had to wait until the next Return to Vana'diel campaign, which should start early next year).
