Re: Have you ever declined a friend list request?

Since the title says "ever" I had to say yes... I've only ever done it once though.

The MOST annoying person I've ever met, I don't even dare utter his name, sent me a friend request.(In the back of my mind I was thinking "NooooooooooooooooooooooOoooooooooooooo!!!!") I had to decline... I had to!!

Other than that one instance, I've always accepted.

Re: Have you ever declined a friend list request?

I've never declined an invite to friend list, most of the people who add me are people I had a good time partying with, kind of like a list of "good people" to xp with, not necessarily friends. I talk to probably 4 of my friends regularly, and some of them if I happen to run into them.

I think I'm kind of in the OP's boat though, if I were to get a request I didn't want I'd probably still add the person because I'd feel bad turning it down. I'm too nice for my own good sometimes.

Give them the JP excuse, "I'd much rather have the pleasure of meeting you again randomly!"

I've never turned down a friend request in the 3 years that I've played. Thing is though, I almost never get them. Half the people on my friend list don't play anymore, and the other half save maybe 3 of them never talk to me. That pretty much confirms that this game is a solo game with intelligent NPCs in it. >.>

I went with Lord on my LD Duran/DL Lise/DD Kevin, mostly for AoE Cure Light.

I refuse to use Carlie, and I wanted Dervish Kevin because End Game you're in werewolf form almost all the time anyway. And Lise was my debuffer for bosses.

Back on topic, same as you dirtyclown alot of the people on my friend list don't talk much(maybe they'll send me a message every once in awhile, save a half dozen) and that's pretty sad since I have an almost full friend list. I find it somewhat amusing since 80% added ME to their list, not the other way around!

Re: Have you ever declined a friend list request?

Yeah, I've declined a few friend list invites.

Last one I declined was this guy who saw me skilling up my weaving, and asked me to craft something for him. I say sure, and we get to chatting a bit, he checks the AH to see if his stuff sold, and then the conversation turned really sour, like:

"Lol, I love it when stupid (insert derogatory racial slur for japanese here) pay too much, ha, he's sending me tells... /blist"

"lolz! I got a (some earring for pld that sells for 400k) for 2k! In your (bleep) (bleep) (bleeeeeeppppppp)"

THEN he sends me an invite to his friend list, I declined, I do not want to deal with people who insult others in that way, nor do I want to be around people who would gloat about the fact.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

All it confirms is that people don't seem to want you on their friends list. I'll let the imaginative reader come up with their own explanation as to why that might be.

I never seem to have a problem finding intelligent conversation when I log on, but I'm sure it has something to do with the company I keep.

No kidding. He really has to go. At this rate I don't even have to ban him, the system will be more than happy to do it automagically.

Well, if you've ever been to any of the chans you already know he won't care about being banned, and if he does get banned and feels like coming back he still will.

Re: Have you ever declined a friend list request?

I've declined on a couple of occasions (when perhaps helping someone who has died and I've raised them on my travels, or somesuch event where we haven't actually become friends...).

Mostly I accept & add. I have a large-ish friends list, out of which about 10% are regular chat companions. It has helped a lot because I have had to take some breaks from the game due to work & RL pressures - so coming back, you always have folks who can sort of update you on what you've missed. I used to have my own LS, but had to let it die - and I would have felt very lonely when looking for a new LS w/out my friends list!
