  • Few Questions

After a long...long time of not playing FFXI, I've decided to come back (since no other MMO is actually fun compared..). Anyway, a few questions come to mind:

    1. What's the current best static party?
    2. What's the best server to play on lately, population-wise?
    3. Do we (my friends and I) still require world passes if we want to play on the same server? Or only for the high-population servers?

I appreciate any sort of resposne, thank you.

    Re: Few Questions

    1. There is no "best" static party, its entirly situational. Just be sure to fill all roles, Tank, Healer, DD and Support.
    2. It depends on your definition of "best". High population = more parties but also more people looking and more camps taken. Lower population = less parties.
    3. Yes, or luck.

      Re: Few Questions

      Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Trying to find out what classes we should start out as. So we'll probably have to find WPs to start on the same server, which is difficult. They're 30k gil still?

        Re: Few Questions

I don't remember WPs being as high as 10k before. Should be in the range of 1-3k. I personally wouldn't mind helping people buying their WPs at all. If you ask around I'm sure you'll get help. (ask for worldpass, don't ask for gil btw...)

All six basic jobs are pretty fun

I would personally suggest going either WAR or BLM, for various reasons. I haven't had much problem with party invites up to lvl 23 for any class yet.

            Re: Few Questions

Ok, I remember when I first started (almost directly at NA release), and they were extremely expensive. Guess it's gone down since. Appreciate the help.

We're trying to find a server that we will be able to play on and find groups to fill any voids we have. Since I only have 3 players who are definitely in to play with us, a higher-population server is probably what we're looking for. Less mobs, but more players. There's always a spot to camp, I suppose. Any suggestions for server?

Again, I very much appreciate the responses. Thanks you two!

EDIT: Thanks, Bricklayer, was posting response when you responded.

If you only have 3 people to static then I'd starting as WAR, then becoming PLD or NIN once you hit 30, WHM, and RDM. That will give you a tank, healer and support role, then you can pick up random DDs when you form parties, they're always alot more DDs seeking than other jobs so they'll be the easiest to pick up.
