  • How do I get to the glacier?

I'm trying to get the ice weather for SMN quest and I hear the best place is Xcabard or the Beucudine Glaciers (I probably butchered the spelling )

Anyway I can't get there through Rangeumont Pass, as I don't have a map and I aggro everything in there.

So I am trying to get there through Battalia Downs but I can't get near the entrance to the glacier, as I go north toward the Northwest corner, I'm blocked by a ledge and there doesn't seems to be any ramp allowing to get pass it.

Can anyone tell me how to get there through Battalia, thank you.

the battalia downs entrance is one way. well, not exactly, but that ramp is only one way (down).

You can't get to Beaucedine through Batallia. They only way to get to the part of Batallia that connects with Beaucedine is through Beaucedine. Ranguemont pass is the only way.

You can't. The only way to walk to the Glacier is through the pass. Sneak and invis will get you though, map is at ffxi-atlas.com.

        Damn, too slow.

I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

There IS one way to do it. Get a WHM/BLM to go through Beaucedine back to Batallia, then die on the ledge and have them Tractor you up and Raise you.

It's not a good way, but it does work (then again, anyone powerful enough to do that can probably see you safely through the glacier anyway).

Thanks for your help guys, I managed to get my way through Rangeumont and finally unlocked SMN.

Anyway, I know this seems a little off topic, but I thought it would be better to ask this now then to make a new thread:

I'm going to lvl my MNK to 60+ in order to participate in the avatar prime battles with my LS (in order to get most of the avatars for my SMN).

My MNK is lvl 41 right now, but I don't know where to go to lvl now, do I stay in the Crawler's Nest or is it time for me to move somewhere else?

Thanks for your advice and sorry to be off topic

Well it's a little late now but I would add a couple sidetrips to the list when you get there. If your nation controls the region, Fauregandi, do a supply mission to the outpost in the Glacier. After you complete that task, head to Xarcabard and unlock the Vazhl gate crystal. Eventually, you'll want to do a supply run to Valdeaunia in Xarcabard as well, but the first two will make that much easier to come back and do later. As you progress through the game, you'll find having 'instant' access to those regions is invaluable.

If you don't have the maps already you can get them in a fairly simple San D'Oria quest. http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/quest.php?id=14
