How many characters have you had?

It is close to me being playing FFXI for a year now and I went over how many characters I experimented with before I got to where I am now.

I have had a total of 5 characters now. 3 that are no more -sabrexl, Jarre, Littlebrick
And 2 I will use frequently Brickshouse and hariselden.

The 3 dead characters...

sabrexl Batsok- First character I used and was a hume, got to lvl 11 war and learnt the basics of the game (very hard as I did not belong to this forum then or know of other sites) after learnign about the AH I created a second content ID and transfered any moeny and gil to a new character.

Jarre - elvan male from Sandy - again i experimented more with this character trying a few mage jobs etc.

Littlebrick - windy - taru - after seeing hundreds of tarus in a few dune parties and their usefullness in the mage department I decided to try them and used sabrexl's ID slot. I got up to lvl 11 whm and Blm. found it difficult to find parties around Burbima peninsular and also found it difficult to get to selbina without sneak and invis potions (very expensive) Last night I decided to try a new with my favourite out of teh 3 trials an elvan.

so started Hariselden (yes named after the main character of the foundation series by isaac Asimov) I have transefered all my items accross from littlebrick (via Brickshouse) nd so now have a new charcter starting as Mnk with good gear for the next 15 levels saved from my previous char or bought from the AH with the money from sold items from littlebrick, I started in bastok, (yes I know i don't get the ring, but I think this city is the best to start from for levlling and easiest to get to the dunes) so hariselden is born and I will sue him when bored or waiting for a party invite with brick.

Brickshouse is my main character and the one I enjoy playing with, a strong Galka into melee roles rather than mages with 3 jobs over 25 (yes its slow levelling when you only have a couple of hours a night) so hariselden will be a change. also I will be doing war again with Hari but this time using an axe, brick has been levelled with a sword which has helped immensly with my Pld at 29 still with capped sword, sheled and evasion.

Well thats my FFXI character history, what is yours? have you been with the same character since day 1 or did you experiment before settling down with one like i did? Post away lets here your stories......

I have had only one character since day one, i later got a mule that i got 200 exp with, for some reason.

Someday i might try a new server with a secondary account, and ill most probably try playing taru if i do, or galka, ive been pondering it more and more each day.

But when i think about missions, zms, cops, promies... all over again..? kazham keys... limit breaks, gil, valkurm... i allways forget about it.

Um... If you count everytime I deleted and started new mules, plus when I started originally on Bismarck... 13

1. I started on Bismarck as Malachi because I was impatient to wait for my RL friends to get home from work to get a World Pass. I deleted him and created...
2. Haggai, my main character on Remora.
3. I then created my Windurst mule Eataru.
4-5. Then I deleted and recreated him twice to make money on the Blaze Spikes and Justice Badge quests (small bucks, I know)
6. Then I created Sugarmama for a Bastok mule.
7-8. Deleted and recreated twice for money on Warp quest. She has since moved to be my Jeuno mule.
9. Created my Sandy/Woodworking mule Mountanddo
10. Created a new Bastok mule, Legoland
11. Deleted Legoland so my nephew could try the game as Fiadude
12. He lost interest so Legoland was recreated.
13. Started a new account, Brittany

Other than Brittany, the highest level on any mule is a tie between Eataru MNK5 and Legoland WAR5. My greatest achievement is Sugarmama with 0 EXP, 0 magic skills and 0 combat skills. Well, I guess she has like .5 evasion because of bloodporting.

I have two separate accounts. Been trying to level bard on the other one in my free time. But there is so little free time, so I haven't gotten that far. Besides, when I was in my teens, no PT invite then. Most players on Leviathan are PLd up to like 40+ these days it seems. And the other PT that are leveling with a PL... well those are just sad.

Ive had an Elvaan, 2 hume males, a female hume and 2 mithras. Finally stuck on my last mithra now as RL interfered with the last but before that I just restarted alot cause I really get annoyed by how my char looks, enough for me to restart D: Had to do missions and quests so many times now Ive gone insane.

Same here. I have my Elvaan Male I created the first day the game was released in the US and never made another. A friend quit FFXI a while back and gave me his 96 fishing mule and his 62 WHM which I then leveled to 75. But as far as me creating them, only one.

Started my main as a red mage, solo'd to 15, switched to WAR, solo'd to 36, along the way, picked up Paladin and solo'd to 27. Then I tried BST and loved it, ( notice I always play solo due to only playong an hour or so per day.) took beast to 50.
Then I decided to start craft and got my first mule in Windy, hume male thief.
Like mules so much that I started 1 in Bastock, 1 in Sandy. Then I discovered Windy Aspir quest, easy money for 1 days work. Started another mule in windy, and deleted and started over about 9 times to do Aspir quest. Ended up with another mule in windy when I got tired of the quest. Ran my Sandy mule to Juneo and started another mule in Sandy. Started my main working on BLU and using mules tio get my main to 95 cooking. I've raised fame on most mules to max to get mog upgrades without them leaving the city but I really don't level the mules, except the thief to 8 to see what steal was all about. I garden with all caracters which takes time away from leveling my main, but with gardening and cooking, I enjoy the financial aspect of the game.

oh boy, here goes...

First character was in NA release on Shiva. Mithran 50 THF/50 RDM.

Second was when Asura opened up. 30 Elvaan WAR.

Third was also on Asura, but I made a Hume RDM this time after I got fed up with LFG on my Elvaan WAR. Only got to 25 this time.

Fourth was after I got married and had to get a seperate account. Also Asura, ELV BLM 40.

Fifth was the original Bandicoot when Remora opened up. Ended up deleting him when my wife and I thought we would quit for good last Dec. Taru BST 53.

Sixth was back on Asura for Project Zero.

Seventh was Bandicoot v2 (on Remora) after coming back. Taru WHM 30.

Eighth was a 3rd account on Remora when I tried to duo box a tank along with Bandi.v2. Elvaan WAR 30.

2,3 and 5 were restarted a couple of times in the teens because I didn't like their looks. I also have 2 extra mules for every character I start (except for #6) in the other nations.

They're all retired now. RIP little toons.

My Elvaan Red Mage, Saintsesuj, in beta.
The same character at NA release, but now a ranger.
Cometgreen, a Hume Warrior (one day, hope to make him a Paladin)
Bifrost, a Taru Black mage (I doubt I'll be taking him anywhere though, just storage)
Astrild, a Mithra Thief (hope to make her a Dark Knight)

Since I haven't even gotten my main character to 55 yet, my mules won't get far anytime soon. Hopefully, by next year, I'll start playing around with my mules and level them a bit.

Only 2 characters so far.

I started as a hume in Shiva more than 2 years ago, then after about 3 days of learning the basics I decided I didn't like the way that hume I picked looked like. After that I spent a day or two creating and deleting characters until I got the one I liked the most.

And then I deleted once more and created the final version of my character using the name I wanted (Raydeus), this time landed on Fenrir, and I've been there since.


I also create a new mule every few months when my Item collection reaches a critical point, and from all of them only one has been leveled (got lvl 5 or something on that mule while xping with a friend I met in-game, we created mules together so xping a bit as a couple of noobs was really fun ).

I've got...4 total I think. My first character at NA release was a Taru Monk. I had no idea what I was doing, and quit shortly after getting him his subjob. Then about a month later, I made a series of characters trying to figure out what I wanted. Create, delete, start over. After an hour of that, I made a Mithra Red Mage. Nothing spectacular happened, and I was about to give up. I decided to fight one more random enemy and that's when I noticed it: Her ear twitched when she drew her sword. I really appreciate the little details like that, and decided to keep playing. Lenee was born, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing until real life problems forced me to quit.

During that time, my dad had wanted to try it out. He had watched me play and thought it looked fun. We shared the character, I taught him how to play, and he eventually went for Paladin. He learned how to tank properly through my direction and he's now at level 63 with his Paladin I think. Name's Fernando, look him up on Leviathan and say hi. The last one is my current main, named after my second character on Bismarck. Currently 60 Paladin and rising.

I have had three characters so far.

Chveya was my first charater, a female Taru. I played with her for about one month, sharing an account with my husband. When I stopped playing her, she was a BLM18/WHM9. She is now a shared mule between my hubby and me.

Sisqi is my main character. I started her when I got my own console and Content ID. She's another female Taru.

Epiny is my mule, a hume female in San d'Oria. She is currently a lvl 2 MNK, because one random day I thought it would be fun to exp as a hume.

Having so many characters is probably why I'm not as pimped out as I should be after having played so long.

Also, my current account has 5 characters... none were created to be mules, but currently 3 of them are.
I used to play a Galka as my main but I retired him and am now leveling an Elv F... hopefully I can stick with this one. I've gotten alot done with her got some ZMs outta the way, up to Ouryu in CoP and finally got BST to 50 yesterday. Though my PLD is higher, with the current state of the game I don't really have much desire to play it.
Take a lesson from me. Play one character... it'll save you time and some frustration.
(Though you do learn alot about race/job combos, and learn that Player > Equip > Race isn't always true.)
