  • Good gamepad?

    http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...14262#MoreInfo

Looks, like a good deal. Should work with FFXI, right? If anyone has one of these, can you tell me how long the cord is.

Edit: Sry, maybe I should have put this in tweaking forum? o.O

Mine lasted about 6 months till it died but (unfortunally) its about the only good pc gamepad at the moment.
(yes I still had the broken one on my desk, sometime ill try and fix it)

I have 2 of these, the cheaper one without rumble.
now sure how long the cord is... about as long as the ps2 controller cords

Aww geez, the sale ends tonight! Sucks I missed it, the price is going to be 40 bucks again probably.

Thrasher, what kind of gamepad did you buy afterwards? Or just used keyboard.

Well they did (finally) fix the D-Pad on the one w/o rumble, but buying online I would buy the rumble version plus that is a good price. (well was a good price)

            Re: Good gamepad?

Im trying the a Saitek pad and unfortunately its already havening problems so ill end up with another Logitech dual action. But get the Dual Action with the D-Pad that looks like the one on the Rumble Pad, the old version is like a torture device you press up it goes left 50% of the time and you press left it goes up the other 50% when useing the D-Pad
            the sticks are fine tho.
            I gotta stop editing this.

I think this is what you are looking for just checkaround the major videogame sellers or jp import sites.

Your local radio shack should carry them.

if not, search for PSX to USB adapter on radioshack.com

                          Re: Good gamepad?

Upon advice from these boards, I checked out my local Radio Shack for a DualShock-to-USB adapter. The salesman told me that they no longer carried them, but suggested a Nyko Airflow controller. It was on clearance, and cost me less than the adapter would have.

So far, it's worked out pretty well. I've only had it for a short time, so I can't comment on its durability. The whole fan-inside-the-controller gimmick doesn't appeal to me all that much, so I don't even bother using it. It doesn't have a rumble feature as a result, but I find that I'm not missing it.

I bought my converter from Radio Shack two weeks ago today when my USB controller went out on me so I know the whole franchise didn't stop carrying them. Ask for a PS2 to USB Converter, he showed me right to it. It was around the area with the other video game hooks ups, like ac adapter and rv switches. Costed me $11.99 before tax. Brand new PS2 controller $24.99 and I dont expect to ever have to buy another controller.

The Nykio Airflow were the first two controllers I every had. Really great controller, I liked the air feature. Each one lasted me about 6 months till they stopped working. Next went to walmart and bought a cheaper $19.99 one. It sadly only lasted me about 3 months, then went back to walmart and got a logitech $29.99 controller. Lasted about 6 months and went out on me. Now I'm using ps2 works great, even rumble works.

Damn I've bene through alot of controller to play FF

Oh hey, I have a wireless PS2 controller (Hip Gear or something) . I'm wondering if theres a way to connect it to the PC without any addon's. Maybe through my router or something?
