Those weren't exactly promises on SE's part. They did promise adjustments, but not those specific ones necessarily.

We'll see them eventually. Heck, we have an update coming next month.

Yeah, we should keep hoping that SE gonna release the job adjustment in the next version patch.. coz SE mention that "....All of the changes mentioned will not be implemented during a single version update...."

But considering with the fellowship, hoping SE also update it.... i took so many time to lvling it and didnt wanna SE just end without any news...

Well a lot of those 'promises' came true with the merit update. For the most part the jobs don't need tweaking for general EXP pts, but more for endgame content and the like. And on top of that we still have a few more months to go before the end of the year.

if they screw NIN over with Utsusemi, I might as well just quit. I spent weeks to find out that my job is WAR, love that /NIN. After that... only BLU or NIN, prolly NIN but its too expensive for me.... So basically if they nerf Utsusemi and change Ni to 38, I won't be very happy... But thats if NIN gets touched at all.

No, I do not have a life.

So let me get this straight. All the months you'll spend going from 1-74 isn't enough of a reason to play the game? Even if they do move Utsusemi to 38 that only effects war at 74-75 and endgame stuff. There are MANY players who have 75 on more then one job and don't do end game stuff. I have 75 BRD and 75 WHM. I love NIN sub for soloing but taking away Ni isn't enough for me to stop playing the game.

No, because if Utsusemi IS nerfed, I won't really be able to enjoy playing WAR and NIN, unless I like the changes.

                ok stfu about utsusemi already.

SE will do what it does. Just live with it.

Utsusemi is great, utsusemi is unfair, nin is broken, pld is broken, seriously. no one will ever be happy. just deal with it.

You will still fully be able to enjoy WAR without Ni. I leveled RNG to 55 and greatly enjoyed it, even after the nurf.

Seriously though, if any jobs get messed with it won't end up like a train wreck or something. Personally I'm a little annoyed about the Merit abilities. I was hoping to mess around with some of them, but that's like..2 months away. D:

It's too late in the game for SE to do any groundbreaking nerfing, and I doubt they're going to do any groundbreaking buffs either.

Oh I doubt that, they let arrowburns go on for more than two years and now TP burns have risen to a level that is equally if not more obnoxious than arrowburns ever were. I still think its kinda funny people think TP burns are this brand new thing that only came about in ToA.

The RNG nerf made sense back when there were fewer places to EXP or Merit at high level because a roaming arrowburn could ruin an evening for the standard PT competing for EXP. RNG had the ability to deal damage that ignored mob defense and they specifically used /NIN back then to ensure they didn't take damage for it.

Fast forward to today and, sure, there are lots more places for high levels to merit in ToA zones, but they're all highly contested and fast mob respawn doesn't exactly fix the problem of another PT camping on top of you. Lots of people sub /NIN so they can DD w/o the consequence of damage just like RNGs once did.

I'll concede that RNG doesn't particularly suffer in ToA zones, but you can still feel the difference in RoZ/CoP areas and those old EXP spots are still viable, yet all other jobs are still capable of exploiting /NIN w/o consequence.

Maybe its just me, but if SE had bumped Utsusemi: Ni up one level last year rather than wholly nerf ranged attacks, RNG/NIN tactics would have changed quite considerably. Sometimes three shadows just wasn't enough to lose hate for an RNG, they needed Ni to pull off arrowburns back then. And really, were you NIN tanking back then, you were little more than a temporary distraction, RNGs were blink-tanking just as much.

When the damage was nerfed, /WAR became the best sub for damage. Well, it actually always was, but people never wanted to risk it because they couldn't play RNG as mindlessly as they could with /NIN. RNGs still sub /NIN to avoid damage, but its now very much for the ability to dual wield accuracy and attack bonuses, particularly because when SE nerfed ranged attacks, accuracy took a big hit. The loss of accuracy has been a bigger point of concern for the RNGs that stuck with the job.

So a year later, nothings really changed. Same problem, different jobs, but same subjob. Bumping up Utsu: Ni one level wouldn't be terribly damaging to NIN, nor would it decimate other jobs, but it would affect party/endgame dynamics at high level, which is quite needed.

Still, I doubt they're going to do anything groundbreaking. They might weaken the effect of Utsusemi when subbed to take it down a notch, but I doubt they'll doing much to the main job itself.

Mages have looked down at people playing DD jobs for years because of how common they were. We sit around for hours, sometimes days, just for a party while the mages zoom through the levels. Now the melee are doing really well for themselves towards end game, and they should be proud. It's a shame only a few melee jobs are invited to TP burn parties though, but we can again chalk that up to Utsusemi and Dual Wield.

Seems like SE could take out two birds with one stone if they would only tone down the effects of Utsusemi and Dual Wield when Ninja is subbed. I wouldn't mind if while Utsusemi were up Ninjas had a 25% Atk loss. >_>
