Assault?

Slightly random, but I was thinking about Assault, and I realized.. I don't know what it is. n_n;

If someone could explain Assault to me, the basics and some details, and maybe what I'd need to do first to be able to do assault.

Also, would a 60SAM be any use in Assault, or is 60 too low/high?

60 would be fine if you can find other lvl 60 people to do it with you. It's basically just a times mission. You go into a dungeon with a set objective and have to complete it within a set time. Like the first one at mamool ja staging point. 30 min to rescue the captured prisioner.

Hurr, it sounds like fun. Do I have to have done any other AU things first? Like the AU missions or anything?

Just for the record, ffxiclopedia is the best way to find any info on the game, they truly have the best source of information on ffxi, just sayin.
