    Re: Why are everyone so phlegmatic?

    As a fellow EU player I feel your pain and can only offer the somewhat obvious advice of "Keep At It."

    I too have had alot of difficulty finding people to do missions such as Zilart and CoP every since the game came out in NA for the PC. In fact only this saturday just gone did I complete Divine Might, which is pretty absurd really considering its such an old quest.

    After 3 years of being unable to get anything done I finally opted for the one thing I didn't want to do, I now forefit sleep to get things done. I do Dynamis and stay up until 4am every time we do it. CoP Static, I was up until 3 or 4 am every day we did something there too. Things like Divine Might, yep you guessed it, lets stay up until 4am to get it all done. Every Sky event I want to attend (I rarely do) ends up with me staying up late as well.

      Maju, sounds like you're on one of the many EU low population servers sadly. Only real options are to:
      i) roll again on a server with a buoyant EU playerbase if you think you can face starting all over again;
      ii) try and contact S-E and see if it's possible to get a transfer to one of the aforementioned servers, good luck with that one;
      iii) sit tight and hope more European players appear on your server, I waited two and a half years on Fenrir for this to happen and it never did;
      iv) arrange your entire lifestyle around being able to play the game from midnight through to 7am in order to be able to join one of the many NA linkshells out there across all servers;
      v) quit and play another game where you actually have the choice of localised servers so the situation where you have no-one to play with is eliminated.

      To answer the original question you posted. FFXI players are unwilling to help out for a number of reasons, some of these reasons being they:
      i) see no profit in helping someone out unless there is indeed some form of financial incentive, blame this on a game so economically influenced;
      ii) are unwilling to try new challenges where the strategy hasn't already been discovered because the chance of death and subsequent experience loss is too severe;
      iii) don't have the gear needed if the mission is level capped. This was often the case in CoP if a group of people advanced to the next level cap range and sold all their previous gear in order to be able to buy the next tier;
      iv) are probably using their free time from HNM activities to farm and craft in order to raise money for gear for their new jobs or supplies for their existing ones;
      v) are sitting for the eighth hour with their LFG flag up and don't want to risk missing that party invite.

      There are many more I'm sure but you get the idea.
