    Re: Dream of PSP

to add what Dak said, I think a portable vanadiel would be interesting but it would limit you to your mog house only with a few extras. You could craft, send, receive, check on your chocobo and place items on auction.

You would need to log your character in your mog house for you to logon with the psp and of course, you can only login with either the psp or your regular version one at a time.

However, as others have said, it just isnt possible for the game to be on the psp because of the lack of memory for one. Who knows if the processor cant even handle it too.

taru edit: with the above post, specifically option 3, that would cause some insane loading times. reading off a disc then transfering via usb then over wi-fi? the disc is the slowest part of any computer, then bottle neck that through a usb and over wi-fi would just be too much imo.

Alright, only way I could see this happening is a type of add-on to FFXI.

          1. You log into your MH as the moogle, no matter what city you are in, it is the same one.

          2. You can check everything as you would in-game, but as the moogle and only in the MH.

          3. Probably some mini games to boost interest.

....yeah, I don't see it ever happening. Ever. You certainly couldn't explore the world as the PSP wouldn't be able to hold the info for all the zones. You couldn't fight monsters cause the PSP wouldn't be able to hold the dats for the mobs and their battle graphics, never mind your character and armor. I won't even begin to mention quests and cutscenes.

At *best*, and I still can't ever see this happening, is that you get a mini game type thing with some link to your MH to check flowers and junk. But even that's pushing it as it would serve little to no use. There could be a FFXI based game on the PSP one day possibly, buut even that's highly doubtful as Squeenix has been giving all their hand held love to nintendo. And that came out sounding very very wrong ._.

              Re: Dream of PSP

All this "minigame" talk reminds me of Animal Crossing, where you could log in with your GBA and visit the island of your town and talk to the island inhabitant. I always enjoyed doing that.

I personally hope they don't do a portable FFXI side quest thingy, then I'd have to go out and buy the PSP (which I hadn't planned on) in order to experience all the game has to offer. But that's just me - I've got far too busy a life to spend time on a portable system, hell, I barely have time to play FFXI on my PC anymore. So for me, buying a PSP would be a waste of my hard earned gil. I mean, money.

Oh, I really like that idea. Playing as your moogle instead of your character. Then you have only access to your moghouse, which would cut down the amount of memory needed.

Maybe let you have access to the Jeuno AH from the moghouse as well, so you can buy stuff for crafting.

The minigame could be something like travelling to Moogle's hometown where you can fish/mine/harvest. But I guess you can't let people get rare ores or fish easily, so that'll have to be balanced out somehow.

Also maybe have some little quests and other minigames in MoogleTown where you can get equipment for the moogle. Like hats, weapons, etc. And when you log in with your main, you can see your moogle wearing his equipment in your MH. That might give people incentive to play the game without affecting the rest of the game like economy-wise or anything.
