When I started up PoL this morning it prompted me to setup a new PoL account, similar to when you first buy the game. I tired shuting it down and reebooting it, to no avail either. After an hour I just gave up and made another account, then re-registered my real account...

Not that I haven't had my own series of issues, but thankfully not this one.

Has your computer recently crashed/full-rebooted while playing FFXI? Like, the screen goes black, you hear a shrill noise from the speaker, and Windows restarts for apparently no reason?

This used to happen to my computer a lot. I don't remember what the cause was. I think it was because I forgot to uninstall old video card drivers, and they were conflicting... Or maybe it was because I had that stupid computer-crippling Starforce copy-protection software on my computer (Thanks, Beyond Divinity! -_-)

Anyway, every time this reboot happened to me, the next time I started Playonline, it would do that, assume that I'm a new customer. I just clicked that I was already a POL member, entered my information again, and it worked fine.
