I'm also a pack rat. >.< I keep all the flowers, chocolates, and gifts that I received from friends on a mule. On my main character I have a bunch of misc. stuff in storage, like my first af weapon (fencing degen) and a taurus horn (from first minotaur run i organized for my previous ls). I don't have any pearls from my past ls (really regret tossing my first ls pearl...)

Same, that's the kind of stuff I simply can't throw away. I also have my good old Bee Spatha +1 (first +1 item I got), and even though chances are I'll never use it again there's no way I'll get rid of it.

I'm a pack rat extraordinaire! I have all the AF weapons I've collected thus far. (WAR Axe which I've never once used, DRK Raven Scythe, RDM Fencing Degen, SAM Great Katana.) I have three mules chalked full of low level gear. Lv.7 Leather, Lv.10 Scale, Lv.16 Bone +1, Lv.21 Beetle +1, Seer's +1, and other pieces here or there I might piece together to level another job on a whim.

I still have the pearl for the original LS I founded, that was abandoned when I went away for a year. I have some useless Event items in storage, I have the RDM test I used to beat Maat in /storage, Lv.10 Rare/EX Great Katana with the long name, (I like the blue hilt. ^^b) and probably other things I'm forgetting now.

Some of the things are kept for level cap stuff like missions or BCNMs.

Lol, use to have my character's starting gear for a long (Just dropped it like last week). Though I still have many key items I gained as I leveled that had some achievement to me. Got my AF Bow, and had been planing to get that Hamayumi as a trinket since it's a very rare bow that almost no one will have (Mostly due to the difficulty to just get 1, almost like it's worse then getting AF2 Bow just because of the lack of people to find to help get it).

I tend to throw out anything that I don't use and that takes up space. I lost my sentimentality a long time ago.

ditto. I tend to throw stuff out due to space, however, items that people have made or given to me, I keep and wont ever sell or throw out.

I'm quite the pack rat as well. I keep a ton of stuff around. I only sell equipment that I am positive I will never be using again, and have zero attachment too. I keep all my items from all the events, AF quests, job quests, etc.

They always remind me of the good times I had. Hell, everytime I go into my Mog House in Bastok I love seeing the Christmas Trees and Easter Eggs in my room as well as other event furnishings. And hey, you never know when some of that stuff comes in handy as well. For instance, when I first unlocked BST, I never though I'd level it, and now all of a sudden that BST whistle sure comes in handy! ^^

I still have my Honor Sword, and I tend to hold onto the rewards you get when opening
certain jobs, just in case I want to level them in the future. (ex. Sam great katana,
ranger necklace, beast whistle, etc.)

Ditto on all counts. I also keep all the useless items from the holiday quests (The bokken katanas, the red sashes, the Yukatas, Santa Hats, Santa Suits, Easter Faberge Eggs, the Christmas Trees, the Swimsuits, so on and so forth)

As you can tell, I was real happy when they upgraded the event item storage NPC ^^

well i delibretly went out and re-collected the sub job quest items, and i keep hold of my kingdom stable coller even though its out of charges (if anyone knows how to recharge it PM me it would be greatly apreceated)

...items from non-repeatable quests that can't be gotten in any other way, including my AF Hammer (I'm still using it, after all!)
...old, unused linkpearl for sentimental reasons
...various past event mementos (for example, a Pleides Card)

I did end up getting rid of the NQ versions of the holiday gear before the NPC Event Storage was added. Every now and then I do a purge, but I still keep some minimal amount of mementos.

I suppose that if I'd gotten something signed from a friend, or some other personal gift, I would have held onto that (although, since I've started over a couple of times, that's kind of a moot point), but unfortunately I haven't. I've given a lot of stuff like that out, but I haven't really ever gotten it.

I am a packrat, but have been throwing out some stuff at last! 2 of my 3 AF weapons have gone, as has a load of other stuff. But somethings I will never get rid of - my signed Goldfish bowl from a friend (he was soooooooo excited when he gave it to me), stuff like that...

Useless junk I hold on to for sentimentality purposes are:

AF1 for War, Thf and Nin. Soloed all three quests with the corresponding jobs at 40 for each of them. I actually use the Axe, Dagger and one of the katanas for capped events still.

The lvl 50 War and Thf JSE rings, symbols for both of my mains. I wear one while the other is in my Bazaar during travel and such.
Random roses, rings and candy given to me by friends.
Signed spike necklace, signed by me that is.
Republic warp medal with two warps left which I refuse to use. As long as it has a charge I'm never far from home. I also carry and wear it and my bastok ring while not engaged in combat.
My first HQ Dex rings from when I lvled thf. It was my first and highest job and those rings were the most expensive items I had for a long time.

The last bolt from a stack of holy bolts and a RS chainmail body given to me by a rl married couple who I was very good friends with in game. The wife would randomly send me stacks of bolts and one day she out of the blue sent me my first stacks of holy bolts, which I used slowly for a long time. When the stack had one shot left I couldn't fire it so I kept it. And the husband, though having large amounts of gil from selling all his gear and such, knew I wasn't the type to enjoy hand outs and freebies, especially in a situation like this. So instead he bought me something he thought I could use that wasn't too expensive so I'd actually be willing to accept it. Though for a while I had no use for it I did eventually use it when my nin dinged 40, but when I lvl nin again I'll be using a Ju Gi.

The tail from the first time I killed Leaping Lizzy. She was my first 'big name NM' that I found and killed solo and she only dropped a single tail. I decided right then and there to collect, stack and store any and all tails she dropped in my bazaar for max gil until I got the boots. Fifteen minutes later she popped again, I got claim and dropped the boots. I decided the tail was lucky and haven't taken it out of my bazaar yet. (btw 1/1 on Emp, 1/2 on mary, 2/4 on mysticmaker, 1/7 on orctrap, and 1/2 on Fraesne or whatever tree drops the algo xbow in Jugner)

Two link sacks from my second and final LS. My first LS was given to me randomly while I was a newb and broke up quickly so I never paid it much mind. But the second shell I was invited too happened when I was 25 by someone who was helping me kill the 2/3 dragon. It was a small, quiet shell with a few members, but they were a rowdy bunch. Shortly after being invited I gained a reputation as the 'guy who knew everything' because I had a habit of answering most questions asked. I was eventually sacked and began inviting people I met who I liked and thought would fit in. It was a fun shell with a good group of guys but eventually the leader announced he was quitin the game.

Eventually we reformed as a new shell with a new name, with the afformentioned wife being put in charge, and ended up picking up where we left off. Good friends, good fun and always a friendly place to be. But drama is something no shell can escape and when it eventually creeped into ours, it was too much for the couple and they decided to leave. So once again lead was to be passed and the members held a vote. They decided I would be the new guy in charge and for the past two years we've been together in our third incarnation.

People who I gave pearls to at lvl 1 in the first shell are still with us at lvl 75 today and we continue that tradition by inviting smart, kind good people into the shell. Though we haven't been able to escape drama either, I was never the type to just give up and quit and I have tried my best to keep our lil shell going. I keep my sacks from the first two incarnations to remind me of where we started and what this shell was built on.

I'm sure there's more items I have to help remind me of times past, but ironically I can't remember them right now >.>

I have my old pearlsack to Kishikaisei, Pel's hat, and a bunch of trinkets that friends who have moved on made for me. It's kind of sad when I think about how I'll never be able to talk to some of them again, but I can still remember all the awesome times we had together. This has gotten me to thinking about Metora. She's no longer with us..Damnit, something's in my eye.
