Has anyone set their LS up with this yet?

I checked around on my server listing, it sounds alright but I am a bit unsure as to if I actually want random postings from other LS's simply posting what amounts to spam in a legitimate forum topic on our LS boards.

Any one have any idea how much access or control we have to give up?

You can make threads so that people can't post in your board unless they have a pearl to your LS. I'm not sure if it's one sweeping setting for the whole board, or an individual thread basis.

I know I'm in four communities right now, and none of them has ever had someone not from the LS post.

Most people IN the LS neither post nor even sign up, despite repeated requests to do so by the shell holders.

I fooled around with it a bit. I found that...

I also looked around to see what I could see of other LS boards. I was unable to create a new thread in another linkshell's board. Don't fret about that. I was able to post in a thread that was made by a linkshell member that did not make the thread private.

You don't have to worry about non-LS spam unless you make a thread public. But even then, you could probably just delete that thread. My LS has a couple public threads, but no non-LS people have posted in them.

And if you don't want anyone (even LS members) to see your levels (job, craft, etc), you can set it that way.

I have our LS all set up. Since we already have a private forum on someones server, we just use the LS Community site as a reference to everyone's level for each job and crafting level, which is excellent because I used to have to update it manually on my forum.

Now I just have to remember to bring my POL account info so I can log in and view it here at work!

Our LS already has it's own forums...we really only use SE's setup as a reference to check each others levels on other jobs, mission status, crafting levels, etc. It's hard to keep up with all of that, just too much information. We don't even post on those boards, just kind of something else for us to check out if we are curious about status of other members...or are completely bored. ^^
