  • Willing to buy JP ToA key, pls read

I once started on a JP client, this means that every expansion that comes out i need to pay the double price.. Since i need JP key's to register the expansion on and the english version to acctualy play on.

Since i'm not willing to import the whole JP game again and then buy it once again in my own stores i would like if you could spare a JP ToA key and if you have a small price for it its no problem

Feel free to contact me on robert_kunath@hotmail.com

I'm about half certain that you can log into your account on a NA POL. If this is true, you could easily just buy the NA version and use it to unlock your account.

You can't make any changes like that w/o the JP client. So unfortunately, he has to have both versions.

        • he can use JP account with NA POL
        • a JP POL ID means he needs JP expansion registration codes
        • he needs JP POL to activate expansions and link them to his POL ID
        • he DOES NOT need NA FFXI or expansions to play! once his POL ID has the expansions flagged, he can access expansion content on ANY client that has the data files available; for PC, pointing the NA POL client to the JP FFXI install (via the registry) is enough to let him play FFXI in english using a JP account

The real question here is why would any of us have spare JP codes. Those of us that import need the foreign codes, so we'd use them if we imported the game. If we import, but aren't fluent, than we also buy or borrow the NA version just to have English available for Missions and such, meaning we'd have spare NA codes. Odds are not good of players on this forum having spare JP codes, and even if I did, I'd probably charge the price it cost me to buy the JP box.

What I do is pay the money for the JP PS2 versions, and then borrow the NA PS2 discs from local friends that play. For PC I just get disk images of the NA discs, and have a JP POL PC disc to convert the NA install. I then have access to both languages on two platforms for only the cost of the JP PS2 discs and codes. At worst, I've split the cost of an NA expansion for a friend that had moved to mainly playing on PC, but still had PS2, and was on the fence about buying the expansion for two systems, so I split the cost with him on NA Aht Urhgan so I'd have access to it in English on PS2, since I don't like playing on PC much.
