yes. there are stats. i don't know them. you can see them when you create a character. >_<

Galka's really shouldn't be playing WHM. lol I partied with one when leveling Ranger out of dunes. He only had 74ish max MP. It wasn't much, and we often didn't live because he ran out of MP so fast.

But anyways, there's a large imbalance between the races. Galkas get the worst part of it, being socially banished from ever going near a caster job, and all.

lol, I chose that you are a racist, but im j/k lol. Any race can do a job as good as the other, yes you have to make up for your stats with gear, as a taru melee I have to make up for my lack of str with str gear. A galka has to make up for its lack of mp with mp gear. But i have been kicked out of one party for being a taru melee they said "opps taru melee nvm." After they invited me and kicked me out noramly some one in a party will be like wtf a taru melee then some one else will be like taru melee ftw. And I like to act pissed off when some one says that and call them a racist makes them feel bad and or shut up. But still its does not mater what race you are, it really depends on skill and gear.

I try not to judge how well a race can play a job by their stats in the dunes.

Early on galka mages need to have the very best MP gear to be viable. Later on when MP efficiency and regeneration become more important than MP pool size it no longer really matters.

This is actually one of my pet peeves. Race. Matters. Willl it prevent you from playing Job X? No. Will it help determine HOW you play Job X? Absolutly. On WHM/NIN I have over 1k XP with a +Haste +Attack setup. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "OMG I want your MP" or "How do you have so much MP?". Answer? I'm a Tarutaru. Waat that much MP? Don't play a MIthra/galka/elvaan/w.e.

Of course stats are differents between races if it wasnt the case why would people bothers getting gear to make up for their weaknesses or choose some sub giving some stats for their job?

Also some races are a little bit suited for some jobs but it doesn't mean that any other race can play the job as well as the more suited races.

I guess the way to see it if we take the job of warrior for example...

while an elvaan have high vit, high str and high hp (second to the Galka only) with decent gear, he can still be good warrior or to be the same a taru taru lets say will spend plenty of money to have stats as good as an elvaan warrior...which is possible but now...if the elvaan as much money as the taru taru and get the same gear that made the taru taru a good warrior, the elvaan would still be much stronger in that sense.

Thats the way I see its a bit more expensive to play jobs that your race isn't really suited to.

1. They have different stats, but any race can play any job adequately with the right gear

2. They have different stats, but an galka whm can be better than any taru whm with the right gear.

Just checking. 1. means a galka whm will never be better than a taru whm regardless of gear/skill but 2. means given the right gear/skill a galka whm can be better than a taru whm, right?

1. means that any race can play any job adequately. It bypasses the issue of whether or not a Galka with max gear can be as good as a Taru with max gear.

2. means that a Galka with max gear will be better than any taru whm, including ones with max gear.
