  • Any program out there to view in-game cutscenes outside of the game?

I recently cancelled my account (again), and I don't see myself returning. I am not here to complain, I actually really loved this game, I just can't make the time commitments anymore.

Now, is there any program out there that allows you to view cut-scenes outside of the game? I still have the full game installed, and was hoping to be able to see some of the storyline that I will otherwise be missing out on forever. I know there was a program that allowed you to convert the music to .mp3, is there anything similar for the movies?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I doubt that it's just as simple as a convert. The cut scenes are not FMV's. They are rendered on the fly, with your current character in them.

There is a dialogue extractor though, that lets you pick out all the NPC conversations from the game.

What Yuan said. Basically a clever way for SE to keep the good parts only to the players willing to see it through. I suggest you scope out any torrents or fansites that players may have generously FRAP'ed vid the CSs and uploaded them for people like you.

Yeah, otherwise only way I can think is you'd have to use a combination of programs. The VRS program if the development on it's importing abilities with the .dats gets high enough should be capable of creating the whole thing. The VRS appears to have all the needed functions to do that type of thing, just what is actually being used of it is still limited so currently it just isn't developed enough to read the FFXI files to do that type of thing.

only thing I could think would be to make a private ffxi server, and force it to warp you around (or use pos, since it wouldn't be a pol server )

obviously, that's pretty far beyond this,

just get polutils and read thestory
