FFXI Japanese Version, Here I Come

On a stroke of luck, I found somebody selling the Japanese version of FFXI here in Taiwan for about USD$40. DVD install disc + 3 expansions ^^

Now I just have to install and update..... It'll probably be Monday before I get to play.

My plan is to just put the JP version on a different WinXP boot partition. I assume that's one of the better ways to avoid conflicts with my NA install.

You can have 2 seperate installs on the same partition, just choose different folders when installing POL....

Have fun updating that...If it's anything like mine, it will boot up with the SQUARESOFT logo. If it does, get ready for the long haul of patches!

It's times like these that I miss the Indian Man the most. HOOOOOOOOI. Sigh. I remember starting that up the first time and being floored, laughing with my friends.

POL had this really great intro when I was an importer, dunno where it went though.

Were they still Squaresoft way back then?

Yes. The merger occured in the middle of beta testing the NA version, so prior to this, when the JP version was released, Square-Enix was Squaresoft.
