I'm confused what expensive gear do I need pre-70? Enfeebling torque on RDM? Oh noes. Not to mention that you greatly overstate the value of any gear a RDM/WHM/BRD might get. It's not like +5 enfeebling skill or +50 MP or +5 singing skill (or whatever gear bards go for) is going to take me from gimp to uber. I look at lvl 75 RDM and WHM gear and it's meh. OMG auto-refresh +20 mp/minute! That's soooo going to make or break my performance in a PT.

I think in the case of WHM, Raise 2 and Erase are the only ones I can think of that is borderline pricey. Most of the other scrolls can be quested or bought from NPCs (Including all the Teleport scrolls, although Vazhl is based on a coffer hunt) You don't need a Noble's/VC either.

I think among the mage jobs, BLM job is easily the most expensive if you include tier IV spells, -ga and AMs. Even if you decided not to buy any AM spells, you're still looking at millions for a complete spell set that you are required in order to NOT be gimp. Since spells are pretty much the only reason anyone would p/u a BLM, you really do _need_ to buy them and the drops isn't exactly questable either (Even a couple of quested scrolls require 75s to fight trigger NMs)

if you think +Enfeebling magic skill or a Dalmatica dont matter to rdm just quit the job right now and go play something other you need no brain nor skill for.


there should be some sort of IQ TEST before you are able to unlock RDM...

I got a Tree cutting of a gobbue in Parshow last night while just messing about with Brickshouse's lvl 32 war, sold in 10 minutes on Sandy AH for 10,000gil a stack of 12 if you can farm that many goes for 200k in Garuda!!
