Marid parties no more?

I was getting myself geared to lvl from 67 to 70 this weekend with the intension of lvling off of Marids and their spawning Chigoes for massive chains.

I know of 2 ppl that have done that for really nice XP during those levels, however I was talking to another friend last night and he said when he tried earlier this week, the Chigoes checked as Too Weak so no more chains from them.

Can anyone confirm if there has been a change made, or is my friend mistaken?

Ability to gain XP from chigo has been temporarily removed because of a bug. It was posted by SE a few days ago. I assume they will eventually change it back (I'm guessing with the version update).

Bug being that you get 100 exp per chigoe no matter what level I'm thinking (In other words, it will always spawn at least EM to the highest member in the party ... at least that's what I think) Which obviously allows to keep a chain alive... kind of reminds me of those Knights Crabs in Jugner in Beta where it dropped 100sh no matter what level you were. LOL (Since been removed from Retail version)

peeps were using the marids to chain the chioges, which almost always died from a IV magic spell. they were getting chain 13-15 by the time marid finally died just off the chigoes.

There was an oversight where a RDM could tank marid and as long as Blaze Spikes killed the Chigoe without anyone else touching it, everyone in the alliance would get full XP for the Chigoe, the same as if only one person killed it. That way people levels 1-75 could all get 8k an hour or so just from the work of one RDM.

They weren't trying to hurt manaburns, there actually was a bug.

I had an exp party attempt a marid at 68 just to find out that they had changed it. It seemed pretty fun, if the fleas that we were almost always fighting (sometimes three at once) gave exp. Constant target switching and stuff, a break from the usual exp.

Ended up moving a short distance away and killed crawlers. Still was a fun party.

A level 30 could afk in a group for a couple hours and come back as level 40.

Knight Crabs weren't exactly removed, per se. They're the "placeholders" for King Arthro now.
