  • gamepad?

I just ordered FFXI and I've read some reviews. Some say that a gamepad may be easier to use than the keypad & mouse. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm not very good with keypad controls and I need to know if a gamepad would be better. If it is more useful, what type or brand should I get? Thanks!!
I don't really know how to put this, but
I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.

Either get a USB controller or USB keyboard. Trust me, you do not want to play this game with a mouse!

btw....use the search function. There's a similar thread to this one.

At your local electronics store. I got my logitech gamepad from best buy....though I would suggest you get the PS2 USB controller, mainly because this d-pad is a piece of crap. >.<

You can use a PS2 controller on the computer? Do you need some kind of adapter? Would all of that be expensive?

PS Sorry for all these questions...haha. I'm new to the game; I haven't even gotten it yet actually...

np, you would need a usb adapter. Could probably get one for 20-30 bucks, I want to say?

what about this? i found it in a topic like this one. A Logitech NetPlay Controller PS2. It seems pretty cheap too...$20.

                    Double Post Edited:
I've been looking at it some more...is it for the PS2 or the PC? Or both? This is quite confusing...haha.

It's for the PS2, but you could connect it to your PC via adaptar. I personally wouldn't use it, but to each his own.

It all dependson comfort. Both the keyboard and the game pag is easy to work with. But my desk dosn't have a arm rest. So I use a game pad myself.

Is it true or not? It is for some, and not for others. Ultimately, it's up to you and what makes YOU feel more comfortable. Personally, I like to use my USB Wireless Logitech controller for my PC. I have my Hot Key for my Ventrilo on my gamepad as well, making it easier for me.
