    Re: The Auto Translator

Meaning that not all JPs are going to understand [fish] or [fisherman] the same way. I've been in JP parties where they had no damn clue what I was talking about. I feel that it's safer to just use the name of the ability you're using to pull the mob, although [fishing] certainly does work, it seems (to me) to be an unnecessary complication.

Then again, I think SE should just add [puller] or [pulling] to the damn auto-translator.

      Re: The Auto Translator

{fisherman} or {fishing} is especially good when deciding who is going to perform that role (as in x {fishing} {yes please}), and something I've seen JP pts use in non-autotranslate.
{Ranged attack} is good for informing the pt of a pull in progress, but saying {Ranged attack} {yes please} to a ranger to ask them to pull might be taken as a bit odd, kinda like telling dark to miss all the time, it's what the job is for :p

For pulling I've always used (Ranged Attack) (Fisherman). Has yet to be met with confusion.

That's what works for me too. A few times I used just [Fisherman] but there was some confusion about whether I was asking if that person fished or not.

            Re: The Auto Translator

i may be wrong, but i always imagined that [fisherman] in relation to pulling originated from JP's. I have no evidence to back this, but from PT with JP they use this terminology all the time.

Maybe someone who played pre-NA release could confirm this?

lol >.> i guess if the JP's are a hive-mind then that particular person was either the hive itself or a piece of honeycomb..!!

              Re: The Auto Translator

I suspect that it did. But just like NA players, not all of them know each other, and not all of them know the shorthand that the others use.

Is there a list of all the auto-tranlater phrases and words? Sometimes its hard to tab through them all trying to find the correct phrase

The answer is almost always wiki.
