I play because its my only freedom from the daily stress of being a parent and a student. Plus being blackmailed by my parents into staying at home instead of moving out.

excuse me for leaveing the realm of video game talk and goin a bit into life, but you shouldn't need a game to keep you from dwelling on the negative, i call that an excuse, but what i really don't get is how your going to tell me all that is wrong, and do nothing about it, just go on like nothing happens because you get a false sense of security out of a video game. i wasn't trying to glorify the reason, just tellin you why

I sincerely doubt that Ellipses needs to be anazlyed in that area. We all play for our own reasons, and if that's his, that's his. Heck, as I mentioned above, I could certainly be doing other more fulfilling things with my time, but I like the game, and so I play it. It's really not anyone's place to criticize why another person plays this game.

I don't dwell on the negative. I'm actually a very positive person, and happy with how things are going. I have a nice little comfortable life.

I'm just realistic about my own reasons for doing things. You asked for in-depth answers, you got one.

I play because I love Final Fantasy and this MMORPG offers the greatest benefits for me.

I play this game to save money. You can get so much out of just one MMO title and for a nominal fee per month. To get the same effect out of standalone titles, I'd have to buy 10-12 $40 software every month... see the financial benefits attached?

All joking aside, this is a wonderful game staffed with a strong support system and populated with interesting people from all walks of life. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I'm playing this game because:
1 - I like the storyline of this game
2 - It made my dream come true adventure anywhere u like, do watever u want n u can be whoever u want.
3 - A wonderful job system ^__^
4 - I have been love Final Fantasy series for a long time :D

I am a storyteller, I enjoy unravelling a tale the way a cat unravels a skein of yarn, and I enjoy the fact that my 'yarns' often change color many times throughout their unrolling.

For this reason, I am hopelessly attracted and addicted to all MMO's. (single-player games don't give me the 'interactive' aspect of a MMO, I would rather read a book if I'm going to have a story that doesn't change when I apply pressure to it)

I play because of the following:

1.) I'm an addict... (>.>
2.) I've always liked rpgs, but mmorpgs are the best
3.) It gives me something to do-something constant.

But recently it's made me kindda', well, "bleh," so to say, so I'ma' quit for a bit and play with moderation (instead of 24/7).

i ask this not for the common "i like to kill stuff" or what not. i would really like an in depth anwser on why people play this game. i for one have come to the conclusion that it is my own little espace from reality. from time to time i find my self wishing i lived in another time, or another place(one similar to vana'diel). i find it soothing to log on, and live another life, the life i always wanted i guess. so please, enlighten me on why it is you play...

I play for my static. If not for them I'd have quit the game a long time ago and moved onto some other game. We fit together really well and according to my static's leader I'm the best tank they've had, so Sundays Mondays and Wednesdays I take a beating for them. They put me through the ringer on occasion, and I'm too much of a nutcase to say no to tanking anything that moves. It works out quite well.

Well I play becauase I'm pretty bored most of the time. I enjoy the tactics to takes to kill monsters in a group. I love the FF series. I like the feel FF gives to an MMORPG. I've tried SWG, EQII, RO, WoW, NWN, EQ, AO, and pretty much every MMO. The only two I keep going back to are FFXI and RO. I always come back to FFXI becuase of the feel it has. My only complaint is difficultly with parties.
