Ive done it during the mid 60's with some peeps that needed 1 more person an since i logged in right next to them they said why not. i had a nice build of atk, str an acc. so i wasnt missing much at all. plus when the whm hasted me i did even better DoT. only thing bad was the poor damage output from my WS.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

He is - fun to fight - me and a nin duoed him for a while waiting on the rest of our linkshell to arrive. It was an interesting experience...

Re: Well hello there, Mr Guivre!

We had a similar encounter with Guivre the other day on the way through to Cape Terrigan for ZM5. It went something along the lines of:

Whoa look at all the bodies, wonder what happened here, guess I could stop and raise a few. Huh? Why is our Sam dead? I know she had sneak up. And how did she die without me even seeing her hp go down? *Whack* What the hell was that?! Where'd my HP go? Run Away! *Whack* I hate Kuftal tunnel...

I didn't actually see the thing until I was face down and could see it patroling up and down at the end of the corridor. It took another 20 minutes until the remnants of the party could clear the crabs around me so I could RR safely. I've really got to get that Cape Terrigan outpost warp, I must die at least 50% of the times I go into Kuftal and 90% of those are just trying to get to the other side.

A fat lot of good it does. I've had it for like 30 levels, can't use until 70.

I was told it was 60, then 65, now 70...I'm starting to think the warptaru is playing with my head.

            My Guyver story:

He's trusight, right? Well not all the time. I read something somewhere that said that he agros to motion, so if you stop running and stand perfectly still when he's facing you, you're safe.

So I'm running through the tunnel, and lo and behold I rum smackdab into this guy coming down into the big cavern he lives in. Stop dead cold.

Guyvere comes up, sniffs me, stands quite literally ontop of me for a tense minute (While sneak was wearing off! no good coming of this) then turns around and wanders away.

I recast sneak from my pecarious position, which catches his attention, so I stand still awhile until he turns around again, and start running.

            Guyvere turns. I stop.

            Turns again. Off I go.

So I'm working my way along, congratulating myself on knowing how to escape this guy, when the puller for a PT huddled up against the wall catches his attention.

So I think GLEE a distraction, now I make a break for it...

I must have caught his attention when I was running away, then, because I was a long way down the tunnel (stopping and waiting for Sneak to finish wearing off so I could recast) when he lumbered up behind me and 'tapped my shoulder'.

            X_x

Yes, it was inspired by the Simpsons
If you know how to download and use VRS, I am interested in being tutored.

I'm pretty sure the Cape Terrigan Warp is 65 as some people from my linkshell who hadn't gotten the headstone there did it on Sunday; those that were 65+ were able to warp there while those 60ish weren't.

When you mage 54 and PT in Kuftal, he'll be your friend.

I have seen him twice. My first time was ill fated. I hear people in my pt say "Oh shit! Grivre!" "OMFG!". The JP taru even says "Guivre D a n g e r! <call13>" (I never get why SE decided to use a space between Roman characters in JP clients). I cast sneak, go down the runnel, then pass a HUGE thing. The ground shakes and I hear a roar. Soon...

Guivre hits Shippo for 527 points of damage.
Guivre hits Shippo for 592 points of damage.
                Shippo was defeated by Guivre.

                ...

Second time someone shouts "Guivre's up!" Guivre was walking arouund the big room. When he vanished, we moved to a different camp, and I was owned by a Recluse Spider. Even worse, Guivre walks up to me and stands beside me, making Raising a dangerous gamble.

The JP player didn't bother to switch input to Roman and he wanted to avoid building kana so he added spaces between the letters.

Actually, you can't really put spaces between the letters when in that mode until it's activated, what you can do is capitalize the first letter when typing in Kana mode, and it will make it look like that. If you hit F10, it will turn into Regular Roman characters, when you hit F9, it will turn into the spaced out Roman characters.

Japanese doesn't use spaces between their letters, so they use the spacebar to convert Kana into Kanji. When it's in that mode in F9, you have to capitalize the first letter of your sentence or you'll go into kana mode.

                    I'm not sure why they have both, but they do. I wish Bside was here, I'm sure he could tell us. ; ;

Uh, I have, multiple times. Hence the comment. I've been through Kuftal more times than I can count, for various PTs, ZM, Garuda, skillups, NPCs... never ONCE seen her. Or Amemet for that matter.

And the JP wasn't putting spaces in all their words, that's just romaji font.

[You'll need JP support to see this:]
I'm in JP input mode, typing in regular english
Now i’m in romanji mode. You’ll notice the letters are much closer to how JP players font looks.

Basically, Romaji mode is used for when you're too lazy or IME is being too clunky to switch from your kana input to english, and you just type english in romaji.

I've been there for all of this too. I've seen Guivre a few times though (no one in my party has ever died because of it though), but I've never seen Amemet.

And what's worse is that I can't even use the IME in Windows to type in Japanese in FFXI. T_T And so my response to that is...

The first time I saw him was just where the big map starts from the Western Altepa entrance. I was shocked. I thought, wow, who is he after?

He just ran down the hall, about to fork away from me.

Then he decided to take a morsel on his way.
