  • How to get a ban on an RMT.

There's been a little thing I've notice when trying to get RMTs banned. When talking with GMs, choose your words carefully. Let me start with a small story.

I've noticed that whenever anyone I know calls a GM on an RMT for doing something like botting or speed hacking, they always put in their description message. "Gilsellers Speedhacking" or "Gilsellers botting". Now, I was with a small party of people from my LS and we were farming Ro'Maeve Waters. Of course, this is Ragnarok, and gilsellers were in sky too, but they started camping on top of us farming waters. We told them to move, and they said something in Chinese (In a language called Pinyi, from what a Chinese-American member of our LS said), and continued to farm waters on top of us. Well, soon after, I noticed that the THF they were using wasn't using flee at all, but was always running at flee speeds, not only that, but sometimes he would slide instead of running. My LS was going to call a GM, but I told them to let me handle the GM. My call description:

    "Player Speedhacking/Sliding in Ru'Avitau."

So we waited for the GM, 15 minutes later, he sends me a /tell.

I tell him what was going on, except whenever I could have/should have used the word gilseller, I said "Player", making this person out to be a regular player. The GM said, "Ok, I'll investigate into this matter immediately." Now, the RMT I was talking about (Andysr, for those of you on Ragnarok) wasn't banned immediately. But I'd say a good 45 minutes after the call, they weren't online. Everyday, I'd check periodically, and 3 days later, I found them online again. This lead me to think they recieved a 72 hour ban for using 3rd party programs.

So I want everyone to try this on their next RMT GM call. Instead of saying RMT or Gilseller, and accusing them without hardcore proof (no matter how convincing the proof you have may be), say "Player" instead, and they'll most likely be banned.

(I don't have any Screenies, but when I get my new PC in August, I'll be sure to take some. Xbox sucks ; ; ).

Omg, why didn't I think of this earlier. It's so clear now. GMs dont do anything about gilsellers, only players. So the logical thing to do is pretend they are players!

Well it also lends credibility to your story as you're not accusing them of anything that you do not know they're doing. Also, being polite and calm with GMs usually helps get them to do things.

It's kinda funny that this is necessary and kinda sad that this is funny.

Thats because people have been shouting gillsellers over every little thing lately that the GMs ingnor thouse kind of /tells. Its like car alarms crooks now just have to act embarest and people think they just forgot to turn of their alarm befor they opened the door.

What is funny is how people doesn't understand why a GM would give more weight to a player that reports something suspicious about another player, than to a player that claims "gilseller!! botter!!" without any proof.

(In case anyone needs an explanation, if you report a suspecious activity without jumping to conclusions it will tell the GM the report could be actually legit.

If you claim gilseller and the such the GM will think "here's yet another noob claiming RMT just because he lost a claim ")

I've reported this kind of thing myself, a guy was using what apeared to be a warp hack, I reported him and I haven't seen that character online ever again. (I guess they already had him in their sight)

It's not just crazy enough to work, it's logical enough to work.

As has already been mentioned (because I'm slow with the replies), approaching a GM in a reasonable way with a complaint about something that can be tracked by that GM is going to get much better results then accusing them of being RMT with no evidence other than the fact that they are "known to be" gilsellers.

How many temporary bans are you allowed to receive before they ban you permanently?

As far as I know they put marks on your account that range a number of 'threatening' colors. Black marks are the worst, and I believe yellow marks are minor infractions. Whether or not to ban somebody is probably up to the GM.
