I'm starting to think they deleted my account and not suspension, because of the several MPK incidents. None of which were on non-gil selling people mind you. Kind of funny how you can sell gil and manipulate NM's. But when someone tries to stop that, they get they're account deleted.
I'm sure this has been beaten to death already in this thread, but this irritates me a lot. This is the general emotion behind "the list" and people will mask their intentions by showing the public how we're just downtrodden victims and trying to take law into our own hands to solve the problems.
It may work in Hollywood, but this is just vigilantism and there is no place for it in real life.
But the people playing it are real, no? Meaning that they aren't magically exempt from real life restrictions just because they are participating in a fantasy RPG.
So... You play legitly but you botted at one point?
That's like saying the gilsellers are nice people.
Oh, wait.
two days T W O days and it was on a mule I deleted like 3 months ago anyway, and this was back about a year or so (dont even remember) when I tried it, it ment nothing, I got fishing to like... oh 25 and stopped because I found botting pointless and stupid, really its silly to hold me against something that happened over a year ago on a charater that does not even exsist anymore
so yeah I play lagitly, I dont take matters into my own hands, I let GMs do it, that is what they are there for.

The people playing it are also killing dragons and saving the world by sometimes making alliances with shady characters and breaking the rules themselves to further the storylines. So, as an extension, they could easily apply the same logic to dealing with other in-game enemies ie RMT. You can spin it anyway you like and I can equally find another way to prove otherwise. Level a job to 75 and experience the effects of RMT throughout all levels of the game then see if your composure remains after watching the game you enjoy be slowly destroyed by these individuals whilst the GMs and S-E do little to nothing.

Yes, but the dragons and shady characters are NPCs. They are not real. But the other people? Those RMT that we all love to hate? They are. Yeah. They are players. So that means that they have the same rights that you do. Is that fair? Maybe not. But them's the rules you agree to abide by when you log in.
I don't need to level to 75 to know the difference between what I have a right to do and what I don't. But hey, way to show your desperation by tossing that one out. While I certainly am not going to fault anyone for doing whatever they choose (after all, it's their time, and their account), I'm not going to console them when they get banninated for breaking the rules.

I'm sorry you have to resort to insults when discussion fails you. Suggesting you level to 75 is a valid comment seeing as you can have no first hand experience of RMT practices other than your 1-30 level bubble. Continual frustrations at wasting hours camping trigger item NMs to be beaten by 24 hour a day, 7 day a week RMT is just one example of what can turn an otherwise placid gamer into a frustrated and angry "vigilante". I've seen otherwise normal people resort to extreme measures after months of such violations of the ToS that S-E refuse to enforce.

It wasn't an insult. If you find "sorry you had to throw that out there" insulting, than I'm not sure what to tell you. I've been playing this game for three years. Please don't take the levels listed in my sig as indicative of my total playing experience. Calling my (current) levels out seems to be the last ditch effort on the part of people who don't have any valid points to make, but unfortunately, it's not a valid point. Even if I hadn't been playing FFXI for as long as I have, RMT is not unique to this game. Every MMO suffers from it, and I've played my fair share of them as well.
I've been outpulled by RMT many times, on items that I was camping to use and items I was camping to sell. I don't like them. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to get all worked up into a frenzy while playing a game that is merely a hobby and go off on some crusade to rid my server of them. Because that's impossible.
Hey now, it seems like there's enough people who find this thread isnt quite going anywhere, and theres already plenty of posts asking and suggesting the personal attacks and people who like to post on top of their high-horse to stop. So to those people and everyone else (edited: everyone else being disruptive*)...
unless you got something relevant to the topic, which is about gilsellers being lame, we all agree right :D? Now, whatever we do to confront those people is our own business, we like to think highly of ourselves when we succeed in defending our cause (we means im including myself), and then we make it public but look out!1 not everyone shares the same views, now the Right thing to do (i cap'd the R, noticed?) is to be civil and not insult/disrespect/impose/insult/attack/insult other people for whatever they do, because its not nice >:-P
Yeah, but this thread was about the injustice of being punished for attacking gilsellers. At least initially. If the topic has since changed, my apologies. I have been very civil in explaining my point. If you feel I've behaved otherwise, please, feel free to point those sections out to me and I'll take that into consideration. But as things stand right now, I don't feel that I've been in any way uncivil or impolite.
If you don't want people to post in the thread, then you may as well just close it (without any silly pictures). Although it's kind of pointless because a new thread will just pop up on the same topic tomorrow.
